{ rose's homes }

  It was a somewhat far walk back to Rose's house, which by no surprise to peridot, smaller compared to the mansion she was used to living in. Though, she liked the scenery around it. There was a stone path that ran through a front like field to the front door. With a white wooden porch and a rosy pink wooden house to go along with it. Stepping up, she look back towards rose, who had lagged behind due to a stray cat.

The woman walked up the path in a normal pace, her ringlets of fluffy pink hair bouncing as she did. Peridot took this time to examine the woman's face, she was beautiful, no lie in that. With clear skin, plump lips, and beautiful dark eyes that when gleamed looked like stars. She smiled kindly at peridot.

"You know, when I heard that you were coming, your mother insisted I kept you in this house and side of...well not particularly beach city, but you get it." Rose beamed, but looked for her keys in the process.

"Oh, so you have more than this home?" Peridot questioned, trying to act as if though she cared. She didn't.

"Mhm! I have a beach house down at a closed off area at beach city, my husband Greg runs a car wash down there, so I couldn't sell it. Me and Steven go there to visit all the time." The pink haired woman smiled, as she opened the door. "Both homes dear to my heart, but as long as I have those I love around, it's home sweet home to m-"

"Wait, who's ste-" as if on cue, a slightly chubby toddler ran out the door, hugging his mothers leg. At the sight of the toddler, peridot scrunched up her nose. "Oh...so you have a son."

Rose looked back at peridot, nodding as she caressed the boys head.

Things got worse for peridot as a short chubby girl, around her age, maybe even younger walked out. She had light brown skin, with messy brown hair that reached her upper back. Plump lips matching rose's and pretty stylish clothes. Hot, but out of the question.

"Rose! You're back! Did ya bring any snac-" the girl stopped mid sentence as she noticed peridot. "Hm, who's this girl?"

Peridot stiffened, a light and tiny blush on the corner of her cheeks. Luckily Rose did the whole introduction for her, currently her mouth and brain went out of order. One because of her shyness around attractive people and two because two other girls came out. Both of which were tall for their age. One was named garnet and the other pearl, both attractive as well.

Apparently, the three girls were Steven's babysitters. But, amethyst the chubby girl and pearl the tall pale skinned girl were under rose's care. Great, more people she had to deal with.

Peridot looked to Rose, "Can I...um, examine the house?"

"Hm? Oh sure!" The woman picked up Steven, glancing at the three girls. "I'll be back, I have to get groceries. Garnet, make sure to..."

Blah blah blah.

Peridot just helped herself in, looking around the home. It made her feel warm inside for a strange reason, she didn't exactly know why. A sigh escaped her lips, she wandered around the house aimlessly. Soon finding herself in front of a glass slide in door, it led to the backyard. Which was more like an open field, they even had an empty barn at the far back of it. A forest squared off the field, so the many trees were around the well trimmed grass. It was huge, she even noticed a garden with a built in fountain.

"I guess she is rich..." She mumbled, deciding on wether she should step out or not.

"Hey! P-dot! Don't think on running away through there, trust me I've tried." Looking back, peridot blushed lightly as she saw it was amethyst.

"Well, there goes my killer plan." And with that, amethyst went into a fit of laughter filling the quiet home. And in result, it caused peridot's lips to curve upwards ever so slightly, into a small smile.
