She stood there with her glistening eyes, watching as a shooting star hit the night sky and lit up her face, only to disappear a few seconds after. She took it all in, like the stars would start flowing through her blood if she just took a breath and she loved it.

I stood beside, watching her star-struck.

She turned around.

"Have you seen this?! This was so freaking beautiful!" she cried out, trying to make her voice sound loud enough to be heard over the noises of the cars that drove off into the night just a bit downwards.

What she didn't know: I could always hear her, no matter how loud the noise is around us, just because her voice seemed to shine like a light through all the dark mud of other people.

But I didn't say that. It was a beautiful night at the edge of the town and I didn't want to spill my feelings just yet.

I just continued staring and smiling at her. She tilted her head in confusion.

"Why are you staring at me like this?"

"I-..." Because you're beautiful and radiant as the sun. Because the whole night sky seems to fill up within you. Because the way your eyes start lighting up whenever you get a glimpse of something beautiful. Because you fill my heart up with so much love and I never ever want to miss it again.

I searched for words. I mean, of course I could've told her all these things but would she understand me? And most importantly, would she say she'd feel the same way I do?

She locked me up with her eyes and said: "Be honest. Please."

And I don't know if it was because of the way her eyes longed for mine or because of the way she stood there, still halfway in this amazed posture but suddenly I knew what I wanted and had to do as words couldn't explain what I was feeling anymore.

I took a slow step towards her.

One.

I figured I'd need five steps to get close enough and to be sure, she doesn't mind it.

Two.

I saw the way her shoulders lifted a little bit, how her cheeks slowly started to blush but in this kind of way that just has to be noticed because it is simply beautiful.

Three.

Her legs begin to move, her lips part. Does she know what I'm up to? And does she wants it, too?

Four.

I noticed the way her hands slowly started reaching out to mine, as if I was the one saving her and not the other way around.

Five.

Her breath began to shake as I closed my eyes, tilted my head and let my heart do the rest.
