"How was your day?"
I open my mouth.Today, I fell.
Breaking
Without privacy,
Makeup dripping my cheeks.I hid, tears on my face.

Brought me comfort.
Held me.
Listened to my troubles
With words

Sensitive.
Kind.Not once
"You're so smart."I knew then.
I am more. They pulled me back together.
With duct tape compliments
And mortar to my crumbling brick."How was your day?"
I open my mouth,
And close it again.Today stays with me.
