Merek's brown curly locks were cut unevenly around his chiseled chin. He wore a red tunic and black trousers. He sat on a rickety old chair, plucking away on his lute for the very arrogant King.
"Sir Merek, I have special orders for you today," the King's tone lightened, and his flat brown eyes filled with amusement.
"Yes, your Highness?" Merek inquired, his face lighting up and the grip on his lute tightening.
"My darling wife's friend's daughter is coming to visit. I want her for my dear son." The King stared expectantly at Merek. "You will make a big mistake, and break your instrument. You will be executed publicly, and it will impress lady Amelia."

"Why?" Was all she said in response.

"The King w-wants to impress you." Merek faltered. This was a big mistake.

"Sir Merek the entertainer, listen closely. The death of an innocent man is not tolerated by me," she gestured with her white gloved hand towards Merek, cream colored dress (which puffed out importantly below the waist) swayed gently. "But I have no power." She frowned deeply.

"Lady Amelia, I am sorry for my behavior," Merek rushed, desperate to leave her in her peace.

"No, Merek," a smirked played upon her lush lips, her honey brown eyes ruefully set upon him. "We will meet again." Merek was deeply confused, but the carriage sped up, and Merek strolled leisurely to his humble abode.
