The azure gem had been stretching her liquid wings. She missed homeworld. But she couldn't come back. She just couldn't. She lived at the old barn with the fir colored gem that was much shorter then her, who was Peridot. Despite her petrifying past, she somehow managed to accept Peridot for being her room mate. Even if she originally wanted to be unattached and alone, living solo at the barn.
She didn't particularly enjoy having Peridot's company most of the time.
But she did introduce her to new things.
Pulling her sapphire dress towards her limbs, with a beat of her wings the Lapis Lazuli took to the sky, the transparent liquid shimmering from the slightest patch of sun that came in contact.
She actually enjoyed this.
She enjoyed Earth.
Even despite her traumatizing history, she still enjoyed it.
Lapis sailed across the azure sky, smiling faintly. Everything was fine. There was nothing to worry about.
She looked down to see a grove of trees ahead, suddenly remembering the one leaf that Steven gave her. I could get more for a new meep-morp, she mused, quickly decelerating her flight so that her toes would reach the grass.
Her cobalt eyes scanned the forest. The leaves were different colors - not the same dull green near the barn. All she did was just... sit. She sat and admired the Earth's ways of changing.
Everything was changing. This wasn't like homeworld. It was more free.
Releasing a sigh, she formed her water wings and propelled towards the branches. She began to grab leaves, plucking them from their branches until it was enough that she could carry.
She began to soar away, staring back at the grove of trees behind her.
I should visit again...
Then at the corner of her eye, Lapis easily spotted one of her leaves drifting away from her grasp. Instantly she pivoted around, following the leaf into a short spiral before she grabbed it, not paying attention to the others that were fluttering away from her.
She observed the leaf carefully. It was orange, and large and oddly shaped. That was when her memories had started to flood in.
Jasper.
Churning from fear and concern, Lapis suddenly shot away from the orange leaf, snatching a few others before soaring off in a speedy pace.
It was concern that hit her most.
Where is she? Those questioning thoughts flooded in her head. What if she's here?
Soon she landed on top of the barn with a thump, scattering the remains of the leaves around her.
I miss her. Why do I miss her?
