• Sick & Tired, But Not Of You •

Your numb fingers were gripped tightly around the Hello Kitty plush you were holding as you felt a hand stroke your hair. His legs were tangled in yours and your head was neatly tucked  under his chin. You sniffed, wiping your hand on your sleeve as you felt the warm body next to you shift and a pair of strong arms wrapped around your head.

"Ni hao, Sleeping Beauty.." His voice stirred you to being fully awake, and you shifted, blinking as reality set in and a strong light filtered through your eyelids.

"Hey Yao.." You mumbled, unaware of how undeniably adorable you looked.

You were currently being held by your boyfriend of Six Months, Yao Wang. Based on your position, you had probably slept together.

Not in that way, pervert.

A hot drift of air filtered through the room and suddenly the thick wool blanket messily strwen on top of you didn't seem so welcoming anymore. You whined a bit, feeling your throat quench, it was extremely dry.

You felt the body next to you stir in laughter as he sat up and pulled the blanket off of your little figure, kissing your forehead. His lips were warm and soft as he kissed you, making you heat up in a way that you weren't already.

He smiled sadly as he watched your cheeks become red to match your burning forehead, and he pressed a hand to the back of your neck.

"You're burning up, Aru." He sighed, creasing his eyebrows in concern and kissing your nose before walking off briskly.

You shifted slightly so that your head was propped up on the pillow of Yao's couch, sighing as you felt a cool breeze from the fan he had just now turned on.

The cold gusts of air were welcomed as you didn't quite have the usual fever chills so you were just really warm, and this was very appreciated.

Yao had walked out for a moment only to return quickly, holding a glass of water and a medical thermometer. "Let's check you out, aru." He grinned, giving you those butterflies that he had somehow mastered at producing.

"You're so cute, Yao." You pouted, whispering so he wouldn't hear and puffing your cheeks.

He slowly bent down and sat across from you, crossing his legs and taking the thermometer.
You opened your mouth, pressing your tongue against the roof and making a cute little face.

He chuckled and pressed the device to the bottom of your mouth and you closed it, making a little pop noise and giggling yourself.

He sighed lightly, smiling. "You're so cute, (Y/n). Hold still you."

You only nodded, sighing as you heard it beep and he slipped it out and checked the tempurature.

"102 Degrees.. That's no good, aru."

(Fahrenheit, loves.)

His eyes were a bit wide and he left to the kitchen for a moment, returning with a cold washcloth as you downed the glass of water he brought you earlier. Fixing his red shorts, he put a hand behind your head and lowered you onto the pillow.

The heat and realization was only just now kicking in and you felt yourself be overcome with pain in your stomach and head. You fluttered your eyelids so that your eyes were half closed, sweat rolling down your forehead.

Your breathing was quickly paced and you clutched the sheets as the pain became stronger.

Yao sighed, he sat down beside the couch and pressed his back against it, grabbing your hand. Before long, the pain was being soothed and you were calm enough to fall asleep. Your eyelids began to flutter shut as you let out a drowsy yawn.

Just as you faded off to slumber, you heard China singing under his breath. His sweet voice made your heartbeat quicken and you blushed lightly, despite already being quite flushed due to the fever.

His voice was breathy but the song was beautiful. It wasn't English, but it was still beautiful.

You woke to the sound a very happy China saying 'Hello Kitty' repeatedly into his house fan.

Your throat was dry and you would probably end up in a coughing fit if you tried to laugh so you just lazily slumped yourself off to the couch and turned over to him, crawling silently so that he didn't hear you, not that he could over the obnoxiously loud fan.

Once you reached him, you wrapped your arms around his waist and latched yourself to him, squishing your cheeks against his waist.

"wHAT THE HEL- Oh.. It's you, aru." He sighed heavily, blushing furiously.

You whined softly as he tried to get you off him. "But your fan screaming was so adorable Yao, don't stop.." Your voice was dry and scratchy, but he heard you all the same.

He sighed, giving up and pulling you onto his lap, playing with your hair which was blowing because of the fan.

He didn't say anything but just began singing the same song as earlier. You, now having caught on somewhat to the melody, began humming along.

You sat there, both of you, humming in sync as your hearts gained the same rhythm.

You were so lucky to have him and you didn't even know what to do with yourself.

You felt yourself well up with tears but you just sat there, acting emotionless and humming.
The wet drops began falling onto your hands, which were entwined with Yao's and he quickly caught on.

"(Y/n).. Why are you.." You made him pause as you flipped around on his lap and connected your lips together, breaking his words.

"Yao. Thank you. I love you." You whispered, he smiled lightly.

"I'm sick, I'm tired. But, not of you." You whisper gently, putting your hands in his hair as you began to kiss again, this time with more speed and passion.

Before you knew it, it was getting heated and you were both panting.

I love you, Yao Wang.
