I am about to step out of the car when Mitch grabs my hand.

"I have a question."

"Okay. Ask away."

"Will you take a shower with me?"

"Yes." I answer immediately, watching as a smile comes to his face.

"Let's go then." he says eagerly, jumping out of the car and clearly trying to keep himself from sprinting into the house. I walk slowly, just to make him wait. When I get to the door, he is pulling me quickly up to the bathroom. Once we are both inside and the door is locked, we stand in front of each other. I kiss him and he pushes us closer together against the wall, sliding one of his legs between mine. He pulls my shirt over my head without undoing the buttons and I do the same. He steps back and takes off his jeans. He looks at me.

"Are you sure you want to do this?" he asks, sounding uncertain.

"I'm absolutely positive." I take my jeans off, too. He bites his lip and closes his eyes as he takes off his boxers, leaving him completely exposed. Without looking at me, he gets into the shower and turns on the water. Steam is already filling the room by the time I finish undressing and get in with him. He is smiling slightly as I bend to kiss him again. He takes my hands and sets them on his lower back. He sets his head on my chest as I trace my finger over his hip and to his thigh. I step away a little and push his wet hair out of his eyes.

"Well, shall we?" I ask, grabbing the bottle of shampoo next to me. He smiles a little more and nods. Somehow, while I am working the shampoo into his hair, we end up singing Partition. After his hair is only full of water again and he is reaching to do my hair, we sing We Are Young. After we get out of our shower, I feel better than I have in a long time. I am sitting on the edge of my bed, dried off and fully dressed again, staring into space and grinning at nothing. Mitch walks in, his towel draped loosely around his waist. Water is still shining in his hair on beading on his skin. He comes to stand between my knees and puts his hands on my shoulders.

"Do you have anywhere to go today?" Mitch asks, biting his lip.

"Yes, actually." He groans.

"Where?"

"I'm babysitting my cousins because my aunt had her baby a few days ago and she's still in the hospital. The kids are getting stir-crazy."

"Can I come?"

"I'm taking them roller skating." I say, laughing.

"I think I'll stay here."

"I mean, you're welcome to come, but-"

"If I fall will you catch me?"

"I can't guarantee it. I'm going to be busy trying to keep track of a six year old and an eight year old in the roller rink."

"I'll stay here."

"Okay."

"What time do you have to leave?"

"I told them that I would be over by noon."

"It's 11:20." Mitch whined, sitting on my lap and wrapping his legs around my waist.

"I know, which is why I have to go soon."

"You can't go if I don't move."

"Well, I could throw you on the ground." I say, smirking and leaning forward so that his back is parallel to the floor. He wraps his arms around my neck.

"But you won't. Right?" I sit back up.

"Right." He smiles a little and stands up before walking out.
