READ NOTE AT THE BOTTOM VERY IMPORTANT(:::
Prolouge (Rayne)
"Are you all set? We have to be at the airport in fifteen minutes. It's ten minutes away, Rayne."
I sighed. My mom was always so...What's the word? Naggy.
"Yes, Mom. Just let me get my carry-on bag and we'll be all ready." She nodded her head and started picking on my brother about something.
"Caden, you are nineteen! Why can't you be more responsible?..." I rolled my eyes.. She never lets up, does she?
Obviously not, I answered myself.
I went to my room and grabbed my black, Aeropostale bag. I slung it's straps over my shoulder and looked around. Was I forgetting something? My eyes traveled the room and finally my gaze landed on th bathroom.
"Oh, yeah!" I went in there and opened the little cabinet door. My eyes caught the silver metal and I sighed, sadly. "Guess I can't leave you, huh?" I said. Huh, now I'm talking to inanimate objects. Lovely.
"Rayne! C'mon!" I heard Caden yell. I grasped the small sliver in two fingers and let another finger from my hand roam it's texture.
"It's now or never." I slipped the pointy figure into a small sown in pocket in my bag, and ran down the steps.
California, here I come.
****
Being fourteen isn't easy. In fact, so far, it's been the worst of my years.
I mean, controlling my emotions, boys rejection, girls being, well, girls. It all sucks. But now, it's close to my fifteenth birthday and I'm starting over.
With my birthday four months away, January first to be exact, I only needed to grow up a little, ya know? Work out some, make my body fill out. Maybe do something different with my hair. Get a new wardrobe. Make a new name for myself. Find out what I want.
That's all going to happen in California. Atleast, that's how I planned it to happen.

I got off of the plane with a smile on my face. My American Eagle pink t-shirt fit just right, my white, denim capris did, too. My waist length, bleach blonde hair blowing in the warm breeze. It was perfect. What more could a girl dream of? A fresh start. No one knows my past, they only know that I'm that girl walking with confidence and the girl who knows her life is about to change drastically.
Well, lets just say that this girl was also nervous, too. Nervous about school, I mean, it was freshman year of highschool. Oh, well.
"Rayne. Are you ok?" I turned and looked at Caden.
"Yeah, I'm just thinking." He nodded his head and turned back to looking out the rental car window.
"If you weren't, I'd like to think that you'd tell me. Right?" I took in some air, and then breathed out.
"Yeah, I'd tell you."
"Ok." It was silent after that, and finally, we got to our beach house. I got out of the car and lugged my luggage in. All of our furniture was here and set up already. I walked to my new room which was on the third floor. I put my luggage down on my bed.
"Hm, I'll go through that later." I decided and went back downstairs.
"Mom! I'm going sightseeing. I'll be back later. I've got my phone if you need me!" I yelled, and ran out the door. I hopped on my bike and went down the street.
I arrived at the studio in less than four minutes.
While I was on bedrest back home in Oklahoma, I'd done some research on tourist points. I printed out a map of Los Angelas and now, I was going sightseeing. Where was I at, you might ask? The recording studio and set of many California produced movies and talkshows.
I put my head against the fence and hung my fingers in the holes.
I hope one day I can have a job here. I love singing so maybe I could become and super star. I also write my own songs, I could totally be a super star! I smiled just thinking about it.
"Kinda cool, right? The studios and all. Funny how some peoples dreams are so close, but so far away." I looked over and saw a boy about two years older than me. He had bleach blonde hair and pretty brown eyes.
"Yeah. So close but so far away. Story of my life." He laughed and held out his hand.
"I'm Raken Lake. I'm in a band called Seconds Too Late. We record there. Maybe we could show you around some time?" I shook his hand and smiled.
"Yeah, that sounds cool. Do you have any brothers or sisters?" I asked.
"Yeah...Actually our band is a family band. I have one sister and four brothers." I chuckled.
"Poor sister. What's her name?"
"Riley. She's really cool. A little older than me, but really cool."
"That's...cool." I smiled and looked back at the studio. "Is it everything you dreamed it would be?"
"Everything and more."
"Raken! Come on! We have to be in there in five minutes!" I looked behind him and saw and older, way more girlier version of Raken.
"Thats my sister. I have to go." She started walking towards us.
"Hi, I'm Riley. Who are you?"
"I just moved here from Oklahoma. I'm fourteen and my name is Rayne Carters. Nice to meet you."
****
So, my life took a really good turn right there. I made a new best friend who just so happened to be four years older than me, and we grew as close as sisters. My dreams came true in California.
For three years, my life was absolute bliss. Then, I grew up.
Growing up doesn't always mean fun.

So! That is the PROLOUGE. NOT THE REAL THING! THE BEFORE HAND. Just sayin. No, she does not stay fourteen forever because I know that most people like romance, not growing up stories. Of course, this is a growing up story as previously mentioned above, but three years later she is seventeen. Graduated from highschool and just begining her life! Love ya! Hope you enjoyed.
