Selfish Love

The story takes place in Bangalore. It's called the Garden City of India.

The DPS school is the famous one. Class 5th welcomed a new comer to their class. The teacher asked her to introduce herself for the class and she said her name as Shika Gowda. A pair of eyes met with her and soon broke the eye lock . The teacher advised her to copy the notes from others and started the class. Shika was a bubbly girl so she got along with other fellow classmates soon.

She didn't know why but the guy at the 3rd bench had his own aura that she felt sudden heat rising whenever he pass through her. For first few weeks she was coming and going with her dad and she used to see the guy riding a cycle. Their eyes always met ,they didn't have the courage to talk.

From two days she was returning by her own her dad used to drop her and leave. The second day while leaving the school premises she saw the guy under the tree as if he was waiting for her. She felt an unexplained tension,she asides that and started walking past him but stopped by his voice.

Guy : ermmm. I feel bored to walk alone.Will you give me a conpany.
S: you can join
Guy : it's been 3 weeks of your joining. We didn't do a proper intro.I'm Raj Singh
S: I'm Shika
R: so how did you find the new school
S: it's cool and loved it

They reached their apartment it was raj staying two blocks from her. Then it became a usual habit of them to return along. One day she went inside her house after saying bye to raj. But her mom asked to go nearby grocery she left.

While returning from shop she saw raj on cycle in his uniform. She called him and he was startled then he started to stammer
S: tell me the truth
R: ummm.I just want to walk with you so I said the lie
She smiled and left.

Next day he waited at the same spot as earlier she came with a cheeky smile .
S: where is your cycle
R: ground
S: do you know to take doubles
R: yes
S: so we can go together
R: sure

But they'll stop like four blocks before their apartment and she goes to her house and he in cycle to his.

Shika birthday came and she only invited raj for her house party. He was beyond happy,he with his parents came to her house. He gave the gift to her and elders enjoyed the party in their style and chota party of theirs. After this the families too bond well.

Years passed and they knew it wasn't friendhip but love. Now they doing graduation.They confeseed the love in a simple way. Raj parents were government employess and they were of middle class family. Shika's dad is a engineer and they were pretty wealthy family.

Raj family knew his son loved shika but they feared the family status can be a hindrance to their relationship. They tried to make their son understand but young blood takes the advices in a wrong way.

One day shika came crying to raj saying that her parents have found a guy and wants her to marry him. Raj was broken he didn't know what to say. He somehow consoled her and made her return to her house.

Raj made his parents aware of the situation they thought they can at least give a try for his happiness so they left for shika house.

His parents told the children love each other and they are happy to make her daughter in law. Her parents blamed them saying they should at least think before coming here for the proposal for their son or are they behind her property. His parents couldn't take the insult more they left saying if she wish to be their son's wife they'll welcome her. But stunned when her parents told that they believe in their parvarish and she won't take any steps that can cause damage to her mom and dad.

Raj was waiting for his parents and they explained whatever happened there. He was fuming with anger but cooled down thinking about his love.

Days passed but Shika didn't tried to contact him. He felt something fishy so he asked her best friend to get the biggest shock that they shifted from Bangalore to their home town and her marriage is fixed with an NRI and it's going to be held on two days.

He was all broken and requested her friend her number to contact. As soon as he got the number he dialled and waited for her to pick up. She answered and sobbed saying her dad tried to commit suicide because she said no to marriage and she cried. He knew it's no one's fault so with a heavy heart he wished her and end the call.
