Oh wow. Well... This Fandom is unique in its own weird ways. There's the five-year-olds, which the show was originally made for, who will probably grow out of it in a few minutes. Then there's the 30-Year-Old Men who call themselves "Bronies". Now this is a different story. They are DEFINITELY more passionate about the show that screaming little children. And of course, there's also the few stray teens in the fandom, with one or two mothers who are only there to watch over their children and make sure they don't do anything stupid online.

Pros First: The fandom as one is like a big family, they all appreciate each other. Which is rare find, in my explorations in the "Fandom Outback".
The RPs are incredible, some can hold thousands of people at a time without falling apart. But... Just be careful who you talk to the fandom about.
Some people are OVER-THE-TOP PASSIONATE ABOUT PRINCESS CELESTIA OMG while others are more like "isn't she that one pony with the Sherbet hair? I like sherbet..." So it definitely matters who you hang out with in the fandom.
One of the wonderful things about this fandom is that you dont have to have seen EVERY SINGLE SEASON of mlp. I've never watched season 5 and I survived.
Since younger members are so flaky and leave. join. Leave. join. Rant. Leave. join. It is hard for the fandom to stay as one piece. This is definately a fandom that you can jump right into and leave whenever you want, for that reason.
Overall, i think that the fandom gets less credit than it deserves. Most people mock it, but its more than just ponies, its also about the viewers watching it who deserve credit aswell. I give it five stars.
