Tales of Andromeda

In the Land Far Far Away

Once, there was a little girl who had everything in her life until that everything slowly faded away. Her name is Andromeda. Actually, it's not her real name but let's go with that name. Let's all hear from her own little story.

Nothing ever happened to Andromeda's life. Except for being confined at the hospital, yearly. Nothing, until her grandmother died. Her grandmother was everything to her. Her grandmother was a sweet  woman. No, we must correct the sentence: Her grandmother is a sweet woman. Andromeda knows deep inside that her grandmother is and will be that sweet and loving woman forever. Her grandmother sang to her, read Red Riding Hood to her, and most of all, her grandmother showed Andromeda the beauty of books. Grandmother was a teacher, a mother, and Andromeda's best friend. 

Red Riding Hood was always the story that Grandmother reads to our little Andromeda, the little girl never knew why and she is still in the process of understanding.

As soon as Grandmother died, Andromeda became the worst student for two years. She never did homework, she lied, she bullied, and she was a fraud to her classmates. Her other grandmother, from her father's side, comforted her. She went shopping with Andromeda, bonded with her, and protected Andromeda. Actually, if the being a bookworm is from the genes, then Andromeda would have gotten it from her. Grandmother just had to open that shut book inside Andromeda. The other grandmother will be called, Lola Eve. 

Until one day, Andromeda decided that she should be herself. That she would stop everything and let herself do things for her. Andromeda transferred from the public school to a public-like private school. 

It was a wonderful school, the teachers were understanding and awesome. The principal or the founder is so kind and her classmates had a strong bond with each other. Andromeda felt happy but she decided to be the quiet type. Little did she know, she will never be the quiet type. Never.

During break, Andromeda was busy reading a book she found in the mini library. There were only six girls and thirteen boys in their classroom, the girls were talking and having fun when this girl, Haley* (* - name is changed), went near Andromeda and invited her to join. That was the moment when our dear girl felt that she was accepted.

Days passed by and Andromeda, like any other girls, developed a liking to a certain boy named Travis. It wasn't crush at first sight but it was crush at first laugh. 

Andromeda and Travis were ordered to buy floor wax for cleaning their classroom. They were both sickly kids but nevertheless, they both ran towards the store and back to the school building, and they were both smiling and laughing. Andromeda didn't know she liked the young man at first, emotions can be a bit in denial. 

She realized her feelings when she felt a little sad that she neglected skin care. Andromeda is a girl with the face filled with pimples and its marks, big and red pimples and small purplish marks. She sighed in dismay as she went on with her life, hiding her feelings.

The thing is, Andromeda trusted a girl classmate and told her the secret. This naughty girl told almost everyone. Andromeda doesn't know if Travis is oblivious to the information or not. Anyway, students were all teasing Andromeda and Travis together so they both became distant with each other. They weren't totally ignoring each other, sometimes they were helping each other or talking, but that was rare. They also had times wherein they had to be together, not that together, they were paired to be the two main lovers in a play, or seatmates, or be Athena and Hephaestus! Sadly, Travis stated that he hated Andromeda already.

Andromeda decided to set aside all this and focus on her studies. Eventually, she managed to bury her feelings about him but she still liked him.

Later, Andromeda applied for the entrance exam for this Science School. The school picks its students according to how they did on the three-phase entrance exam. Travis didn't pass but Andromeda did. She was so overjoyed that she had a nice year.

There were so many ups and downs in Andromeda's middle school life but still, Andromeda persisted  and reached high school.

Right now, Andromeda is suffering from her asthma. It has become worse so Andromeda returned to visiting doctors and taking pills. Andromeda is in the verge of thinking about the meaning or purpose of life.

Andromeda sat on a chair and let her imagination run in her veins.

"In a land far far away..." she began writing.
