-May 13, 2006-

The band had just gotten off stage at the 'KROQ Weenie Roast' as it was called. It had been seven months since Panic! at the Disco's album, A Fever You Can't Sweat Out, was released and became a top album of 2006 due to their single I Write Sins Not Tragedies being numbered 20 on the charts. Ryan and Brendon had since been brought closer together by the fans and of course, the music.

"Hey, Brendon," Ryan said as he began walking to the shower room, "I'm gonna go take a shower, do you want me to grab you a snack on the way back to the dressing room?"

Brendon shook his head, "No, actually, I was headed that way myself."

Ryan's heart started pounding as it did when something like that involved Brendon. Ryan wasn't very comfortable with showering with people normally, but since he was his best friend and head-over-heels crush, he accepted.

"Okay, c'mon," he told him with a sheepish grin. The only thing that Ryan was really thinking was I bet Brendon's really hot underneath all of that exterior shit.

When they got to the showers, Ryan quickly turned on the water to his shower. Then, Brendon did the same.

Brendon waited a few seconds before turning around to see Ryan standing under his showerhead, behind the point where he could get wet. He was fully dressed, to Brendon's disappointment.

Ryan sighed, then waved Brendon over in his direction. "Brendon," he said with miserable eyes, "I need to tell you something. It's actually something I've been needing to tell you for a while."

Brendon frowned and nodded, "Okay, Ry." Great, I fucking blew it, he thought in discouragement.

As soon as they met up by the door to the shower room, Ryan slipped off his suit jacket and threw it to the side. He leaned up on the door frame, Brendon doing the exact same thing directly across from him.

Ryan crossed his arms and frowned, "You know how you needed to tell me something a little while ago?"

Brendon jumped at the words that left Ryan's mouth. He hadn't spoke of anything like that since it happened. Also, what made Ryan bring it up? Brendon's mind was flooding with questions, shocking ones at that.

"Yeah. Why, what's up?" Brendon replied, confused as to why he would ask said question.

Ryan took a deep breath, "I don't know how you're gonna take this, and I don't know if I'm gonna be comfortable talking to you after this."

Brendon nodded, "Go on, man. Nothing can make me hate you. You know that."

Ryan closed his eyes, his heart beating to the fastest extent. How was he going to explain his feelings for Brendon? "Well, I'm in love with someone," he said, doing his best to avoid eye contact.

Brendon crossed his arms and slouched down against the wall. "Who is it?"

"I-I can't tell you that. I just--the most attractive person I've ever laid my eyes on. Has the most beautiful brown eyes, smooth dark hair, and a smile with the power of a hurricane," Ryan explained, sliding around the bush and not facing the fact that the person he was referring to was none other than Brendon Boyd Urie.

Brendon sighed, "Alright," he plastered a forged smile onto his lips, "congradulations, man." He then trudged back to his shower with his head lowered and a bright smile scarcely hidden by a gloomy glower, rare for Brendon to accomplish one of its type.

Ryan frowned. He realized what a big mistake he had just made by not telling him directly who it was. Brendon was the only thing he loved more than his career, and even that might have been shattered due to his actions.

He walked back over to his shower and unbuttoned his shirt so he could start showering. He glanced back at Brendon once more before completely tugging the shirt away from his skin.

Across the tiled room, stood Brendon, his arms crossed while a small tear run down his cheeks from the downcast event that he just witnessed, barely able to get a bear on his dignity. The love of his life, the only person he's ever really cared for so deeply, broke his heart without any grasp on it. How could I have been so stupid? Brendon asked himself out of dismay.

He turned back to look at Ryan, bare-chested with his eyebrows lowered. It was then that it dawned on him; Ryan was referring to him. He stared at Ryan for only a few seconds more before he shot directly toward him like a bullet charging out of the barrel of a gun.

He pushed Ryan onto the tiled wall behind him and stared at him for only milliseconds before he closed the space between them with a kiss.

Ryan's eyes were wide open as Brendon tore his lips into his own for the first time. But only seconds after the shock set in, his heart melted just like everything did when he was around Brendon. He closed his eyes and his knees got weak. He then began to benevolently tug at Brendon's straight dark hair.

Soon enough they both needed to breathe, so Brendon broke the kiss with a slathered triumphant grin spread across his face from one cheek to the other.

Brendon licked his lips as though he was trying to taste Ryan's. "What I was trying to tell you that one time was that... I love you, Ryan."

Ryan's eyes widened. That while a raspberry-pink color flooded his cheeks from embarrassment. "How did you know? How did you know I was talking about you, Brendon?"

Brendon bit his lip seductively, "I guess I always knew. The way we look at each other, the way we act around one another--it just seems so right."

Ryan nodded, "But we can't... the guys, what will they think? I don't think I can kiss you again," Ryan ended with a frown on his face desolatingly.

Brendon smirked, "But it's better if you do."

Ryan smiled back before wrapping his arms around Brendon's neck and pulling him into a passionate kiss.

So there the two young boys stood, under the water, pouring and flooding the fabrics on their bodies. Each of their hairs getting soaked while being tangled in with the other boy's fingers. Their bodies rubbing against each other in a romantic embrace.

They both knew then, nothing would ever be the same.
