Alexandra's POV

I looked at the book cautiously as if it might explode at any second. Could it be? I asked myself. It was possible. I took a deep breath and cautiously reached to open the book. As I lifted the cover-

"Alexandra! Get down here!" I heard a familiar voice call out from the living room. I sighed, this was not what I needed right now. I bit my lip, torn between my curiosity and fear.

"Now, Alexandra!" Stacy shouted.

Reacting quickly, I stuffed the book into my lopsided shelf and hurried downstairs. The moment I reached the living room, I was greeted with a hard slap. I bowed my head, only raising it slightly to meet her cold, blue eyes. As I let a small glimpse of hurt show on my stormy-blue eyes, hers almost held a tinge of regret, sadness, pain. Almost. But before I could blink those emotions were taken over by disgust and hatred. "When I say to do something, you drop everything and do it. Get it, slut?" Her voice was harsh and demanding. I almost wanted to laugh when she called me a slut when she herself was wearing a skirt so short it could be a belt and a tight shirt that exposed most of her spray tanned stomach and left little to the imagination. Of course, I could only imagine what would happen if I voiced out my thoughts so I kept my mouth shut only replying with a meek, "Yes, Luna."

Yeah, Alpha Dan and Stacy were mates. I almost felt sorry for her when I first found out, but after she changed I realized that they were basically a match made in heaven.

"What can I do for you, Luna?" I asked politely. "I'm going out so I need you to look after the children. Even someone as incapable as you should be able to do that," she ordered me. I was, of course, unaffected by her alpha tone but I didn't want to be beaten up so I just nodded my head. She turned and walked off, before stopping suddenly. "Oh I forgot something." A blow was immediately delivered to my stomach, I fell to the ground hitting my broken arm again. I held in a scream, but a tear leaked out of my eyes. I shut my eyes, curling up into a ball and listened to the sound of her heels clicking against the marble floor.

She's changed. It's like I don't even know her anymore.

*flashback begins*

I squeal and try to hide as Stacy runs to catch me. "I'm gonna get you Alex!" She says tauntingly, laughing as I poke my tongue at her. She lunges at me and I quickly dash towards the stairs. If I could just make it to my room... Suddenly, arms lift me up from behind and I squeal loudly. "Nooooooo, sissy!" I giggle, my four-year old self couldn't quite pronounced her name right. "Roar! I caught you!" Stacy said teasingly. As she starts ticking me, I wriggle underneath her, laughing and giggling.

"Well, what do we have here?"

Stacy and I look up at my parents, who were smiling. Stacy smiled and got off me, picking me off the ground and carrying my small frame on her hip. "Alpha, Luna, you're back! So how was the date?" She asked my parents with a wink. My dad chuckled and said, "Stacy, I keep telling you to just call me Greg. You're like family to us, I mean, you're basically Alexandra's older sister!" "Yea, sissy! We're family!" I butted in. Stacy blushed lightly and said, "Thanks Al-", before seeing my dad's playful glare, "I mean, Greg. You guys are the best." A happy tear slowly rolled down her cheek, "Don't cry, sissy!" I said frantically, upset that my older sister was sad.

"I'm just happy, Alex. Happy that you're my little sister." She replied gently. I grinned, "Thanks, sissy! You're the best big sister too!"

*flashback over*

Stacy was like my big sister, no, she was my big sister. Stacy's parents died when she was 13 and my parents took her in. And in my naïve mind, she was family. Clearly, she didn't feel the same. Betrayal from her was the worst. It was like having your sister, your best friend, stab you in the back. And that's why no one can be trusted. No one.
