Emma walkes through the halls of Creek High school with confidence. After two years of stumbling through the semesters, everything was finally going her way.

She had a ton of friends, finally made varsity on the tennis team, and best of all she had managed to maintain straight A's in every subject.

Giggling at the thought of how much fun this year would be, Emma skipped to-

"What's your problem? Are you blind?"

Emma staggered back. She had bumoed into some troublemaker. He was tall and lanky, with a stark frown and messy fringe.

Peeping a glance at his ID, she scoffed. "Do you know who you're talking to? I'm not a fellow fresh-fish to be grilling on, okay? I've been at this school way longer than you? Who do you think you are?"

He chuckled, and patted her on the head.

"At the very least I'm taller than 5'0. The name's Brandon. Not that you really need to know, it's unlikely we'll be meeting again."

Yanking his hand off her head, Emma ran off not bothering to look back.

The year might not go as smoothly as she'd hoped!
