"Dad?" I called.
It was five in the morning, but I didn't really care that I was probably waking my neighbors. Today was the day I was finally going to the training academy! I was so excited, I drove my dad crazy all week about it. My biggest dream and want, was all coming true. Best of all my best friend Tyler was coming, too! We both wanted to do the same thing. Be an agent for the United States Division...
People thought my dreams were to big, but I beg to differ. I had finally proven them wrong. I could see how they might think that I was a bit of a day dreamer.
"Yes, Lily, what is it?" He questioned from down the stairs of our two story Victorian home. Though it was beautiful in its treasured state, it was one of the smaller houses built. I loved it though, the homey feeling you get when you walk through the door from the cold January air in Yorktown, Indiana.
"Is Tyler here yet?" I inquired impatiently. That boy was always late for everything.
"No-wait, they just arrived now," he said.
Perfect.
I checked in my full length mirror at my reflection. My dark brown eyes, and my dark brown hair matched my navy blue, fitted jacket and my skinny jeans. This was it...
I grabbed my bags and suitcases and headed downstairs. As I walked down I noticed the family pictures on the wall, when we had the whole family in it. My rosy five-year old cheeks shown bright in the sunlight of the meadow. My dad with his dark brown hair, when he didn't wear glasses. Then mom...
It was hard after she vanished and supposedly died five years ago. She had been so proud of my dream. She helped me and trained me in what I needed to know, she supported me my whole life never once giving up on me.
It was my weakness, it made me feel invincible. When really I wasn't even close. So when she died, I was crushed. I never saw anyone for weeks...
I smiled as I looked at my mother her light blonde hair, her brown eyes, it was a trait I shared with her and I was proud of it. All my thoughts were drown out when I heard my name being called.
"Lily," they called.
A familiar, friendly face met mine as I looked into my best friends eyes, his smile as big as the ocean. When he smiles like that I tend to always smile back.
"Come on, Lily," he paused and took my hand,"Your dream awaits!" He smiled then looked at the picture.
Turning to me, he calmly said..."Go make her proud!"
And with that I was off.
__________________________Three years later...
"Where did he say it was, again?"I asked looking swiftly each direction making sure not to attract any attention.
We had been standing on the hill looking over a factory that were about to enter, for five minutes now. There were very few trees behind us and it was a very hot day. But that's what you get when your in Salt Lake city,Utah. Heat dreaded heat; but nevertheless I turned to my partner/ best friend flashing him a smile.
"How should I know, your the one with the map" Tyler said rolling his eyes.
Tyler has been my closes friend since before my mom had died. And when I joined the UAO(undercover agent organization) he became my partner, too. Tyler had helped me get over my mom's death when I was a kid, and helped me see the potential I had in this world. He was always there to support me in everything. I knew he always had my back and I had his.
