This is what the neighborhood they r in looks like rn, it kinda sets the mood of this chapter I think.

As he kissed me I didn't feel the sparks I thought I would have when I finally kissed my crush, Marcus. Instead,...my skin crawled. My hands went to his shoulders as I began to push him off. He backed up reluctantly.

"Amor, Amor, come, you're going to get sick, we don't want that." Marcus said in a French accent that sent shivers down my back, it was as Dustin would say creepy. He kissed me again quickly, I couldn't even back away, before crunching down a bit.

I looked at him confused. His eyes shone with annoyance, "Hop." He demanded harshly.

"Where are we going?" I asked curiously, warily, not getting on.

"Dinner at my house," he mumbled, "but we can work on the project too, if you want."

Something is different. Off. Wrong, too wrong

"What are you thinking? You've been staring at me this whole time, are you going to come...or not?" He growled.

I stepped back as he stepped forward, "Who are you?" I questioned cautiously, his demeanor had changed completely from when we had just kissed. He was kind then, but now...now his eyes had reddened and his front teeth were elongated.

He chuckled darkly, "I could have done this at my home, gave you a nice bed to lay in and drew you into a deep sleep. You wouldn't have felt a thing while my family and I drained you. But now," he sped in front of me, gripping my arm harshly, "I'm angry and hungry, and somebody has to pay that price."

Before I knew it, a sharp pain shot through my neck sending lava hot venom through my veins. I screamed out, but couldn't hear it past the loud ringing in my ears. Someone should have heard, someone should come help me, please.

I tried to kick and thrash around but I couldn't move, paralyzed to the monster above me.

I clenched my eyes tightly, not wanting to look up at the gloomy sky, darkening even more as if it realized the impending death being thrown upon me.

God, just let me pass out. I silently pleaded, the pain agonizing. I could feel my eyes rolling to the back of my head and a serene calm suddenly seeping into my bones.

I opened my eyes, immediately shutting them when I felt the pounding thumping in my head and the irritation from the lights hurting my eyes.

"You're awake." Someone next to me whispered.

"Barely." I grunted, eyes still closed.

"Sorry, he's always grumpy when he wakes up." I heard my mom apologize to whoever the voice was.

"Its okay, I should probably go anyway." A French accent spoke more clearly and my eyes snapped open. I was frozen, like ice cubes, as if freezing water was thrown unto my skin.

Marcus stared at me, his eyes the translucent blue I would stare at days at a time in class, he looked... sympathetic. The monster I knew was anything but.

"GET OUT!!" I yelled, my heart beating erratically, adrenaline pumping through my veins. My mom looked at me as if I was crazy, if only she knew. "Calm down sweetie," she cooed, trying to be motherly.

His eyes saddened, "Its okay, Ms. L," he then looked at me as I was sitting up in alert ready to throw something, anything at him.

"He didn't have my rings Alex,...think. Please." He pleaded walking out the room, sending me a longing glance in the process.

  Rings.

  Rings.

He didn't have the rings.
