The End

Dan woke up with an abnormal feeling in his stomach, a feeling of nervousness swirled with a delightful sprinkle of pain. As the surreal night came back to him he realized why he felt like this. He had gone to bed a bit earlier last night so he woke up before noon.

Phil was still asleep when Dan entered the living room so he figured he would try and cook him breakfast. The kitchen had not magically restocked over night so Dan slipped on a shirt and started down the street to the local convenient store. The Saturday morning joggers passed, usually with a cheery smile which he always found suspicious like, how could people be so happy when they were exercising? When he reached the small store he checked in his pocket how much money he actually had. A whopping $12.00 that he had left over after rent and the other miscellaneous bills. Though he had a small budget Dan didn't hesitate to spend every penny of it for Phil.

When he checked out he ended up having the makings of pancakes and, as Dan predicted, he spent all of his money. The cashier gave him a smile of pity for, he did look like he had just walked straight out of hell. His hair was a mess and he was still dressed in his pajamas. He smiled genuinely back, slipping the change into the cancer donation jar.

When Dan got home Phil was still sound asleep so he walked to the kitchen and started breakfast. He was surprisingly able to make the pancakes with little difficulty and plate them with the only clean dishes he could find. He heard some stirring from the living room and when he investigated he found a sleepy Phil wondering dizzily around the flat looking for his glasses. He walked over and picked the glasses up from the coffee table, pushing them onto his adorable nose.

Phil smiled as the previously blurry boy came into view. His aching heart warmed as he looked down at his friend. The way his nose curved, the way his brown fringe fell on his forehead and his black painted finger nails were like little pieces of happiness that gave Phil a reason to keep going. He realized that he had been staring down at him and was about to break the silence when Dan did instead.

"I made breakfast." He sounded proud and Phil found it overwhelmingly adorable.

He walked into the small kitchen and sat down at the tiny table in the back. There were two plates with two pancakes on each. They chatted about anime and game of thrones while they ate their meal, purposely trying to avoid the big elephant in the room.

"How's your head?"Dan inquired nervously.

"I'm fine. The bruises are already feeling better."

"So, when are you going to tell me about how this actually happened?" Dan knew that his dad was known to get mad and drunk but, he'd never hurt his friend this bad, something must've happened.

"Well ummm... Dan, can I tell you something?"

"You can tell me anything, you know that."

"Well ummm, I'm gay. I broke up with Erika and she told my dad that I told her that I'm gay and he just started hitting me, telling me that I'm an abomination and stuff and I just.." Phil started balling at the thought, Dan hugged him, trying his best to be supportive.

"Your dads a crazy drunk, Erika is a bitch, I still love you." They just sort of sat there for a while in eachothers arms, just thinking, until Phil said something.

"There is one more thing."

"What is it?"

"I think I like you, Dan."

"I like you too Tanner."

"Do I have a boyfriend now?"

"Yeah."
