Ever since Michael and I had kissed, things had been awkward between us. He didn't really speak to me as much. He'd say hello, but nothing more than that.
Of course, I wanted to know what was going on.
However, I'm the shyest person on the planet. I wouldn't dare ask.
After school one day, I walked home.
As usual.
I walked in and saw that my father, asleep in his room.
As usual.
I was back to my lame life routine.
Michael wouldn't be coming over anymore. I probably scared him away when I kissed him.
My life was over.
Then again, Michael kissed me.
Twice.
Those were my thoughts until I saw Michael walking up my porch steps. He then rang the doorbell and waited.
This couldn't be, I thought.
I hoped and prayed that my father would stay asleep.
I fixed my hair in the mirror before answering the door. I smiled softly at him as he waved.
"Leah!" Michael exclaimed, pulling me into a huge embrace.
"Michael, hi." I giggled as we pulled away. "What are you doing here?"
"You're surprised that I'm here? I help you study chemistry." Michael bit down on his bottom lip gently and smiled at me. "Does that ring a bell?"
"Of course." I blushed, letting him inside my house. We went upstairs to my room and I shut the door behind me. He took a seat on my bed and I took a seat in my swivel chair. We were facing each other and I was ready to study.
"So," I began, but Michael decided to press his lips onto mine.
I guess life wasn't over.
We began to kiss more and more and he pulled me closer to him, so that I was practically on Michael's lap.
I couldn't believe this was happening. I couldn't believe this was reality.
Michael Jackson and I were making out.
I didn't even know how to make out. I had seen it in the movies, but I had never done it before. I didn't even know what I was doing.
Though, I guess I was doing something right because he didn't pull away.
No, instead, Michael decided that it would be nice to run his hands up and down my body. I felt his hands on my shoulders, then on my forearms, and make their way down to rest on my waist.
The feeling was pure bliss. I let out moans here and there.
I even heard him moan a couple of times. My hands got lost in his perfect Afro as we got closer to each other. We pulled away at the same time, panting.
"What in the," I began breathlessly, not being able to finish my statement.
A faint smirk played on his lips. "Not bad, Leah. Not bad."
"I'm not sure--" Michael cut me off, chuckling loudly. "Relax your mind."
"I-I-I did. I am."
Michael winked at me and he went to go look through my record collection. "Ooh. This is a good one."
I looked to see what record he chose and it was Let's Pretend We're Married by Prince. Michael put it on my record player and he sang along with the track.
"Excuse me, but I need your chemistry. Don't you wanna be my fantasy?" Michael pulled my chin up gently, so that our lips were only centimeters apart. I felt his minty breath on my lips as he continued to sing. His eyes were deeply piercing into mine as the Prince lyrics escaped from his mouth. "My girl's gone and she don't care at all. And if she did, so what? C'mon baby, let's b-b-ball!" Michael softly sang before pecking my lips slowly. He placed his hand on the small of my back and I giggled as I blushed deeply.
"Ooh, little darlin' if you're free for a couple of hours, if you ain't busy for the next seven years," Michael sang along with the track.
His voice was beautiful.
Sensual, even.
I couldn't even begin to formulate my words. Let alone my ideas. I couldn't focus on anything, but Michael.
As usual.
"Say, let's pretend we're married and go all night. There ain't nothin' wrong if it feels all right. I won't stop until the morning light. Let's pretend we're married and go all night, tonight."
I swear, I was falling in love with Michael.
I couldn't help it if I wanted to.
I wouldn't help it, even if I could.
The track played some more and we kissed a little bit before it was time for him to go.
"Good luck on that chemistry test tomorrow!" Michael called to me as he walked out of my front yard and onto the sidewalk. I smiled and waved before going back inside.
I sighed in happiness as I leant against the closed front door.
Michael Jackson serenaded me.
Michael Jackson kissed me.
I was in the happiest mood. I smiled and touched my own lips and became giddy, thinking of how Michael and I were making progress as our friendship was clearly going to the next level. Life was fantastic for me.
Hold on.
There was a chemistry test coming up?

okay I'm screaming because
1) this Prince song is SUPER SWEET. it mentions chemistry and I thought it was a good song to include anyway but I literally squealed when I saw the word "chemistry" in the song and I knew I had to use it, lol.
2) I used two Michael Jackson song references in this chapter and I'm so proud of myself.
3) Michael is a fine dude.
4) this story is almost done, one more chapter before the last one!
chapter dedication: FreakAndGeek_ you're an absolute sweetheart and we were recently just talking about I Can't Help It, so I had to dedicate this to you! 😭❤️
