"Why weren't you there when I came back from the village?" Sin's voice cracked.
The big question that laid heavy than stone between you and him. The one you dreaded, from this entire trip was finally addressed. You concentrated at the crowd of the people, all of them so clearly happy to be a Sindria citizen. You didn't bother to look up into his golden eyes that were burning holes in your head.
"So you're not going to say anything!?"
Sinbad asked, his voice becomes louder and irritated at your lack of response. It was rare for him to lash out but you didn't flinch, instead gave him a dull stare. He grabbed your arm but you shook him off like his touch was acid. Then he shakily whispered, "You told me yourself that you would be my side. I trusted you. So why?""Because." You are trying to hold it in, knowing the alcohol is clouding your mind and many emotions swirled. But it's becoming harder to keep them in check by the second. The secrets threatening to spill....
"Because why?!"
The question lit up the residing anger you've held for so long.
"Because I could never catch up to you. That's the thing Sin. I could never be worthy for you. And I hated you for that." You responded back coldly.
There, you finally said it. The secret that's been eating you up inside for the past 15 years. Or to be precise your entire life since you've met Sinbad. It felt good even great to finally say it. You felt satisfied as you saw the evident hurt in his face. He gaped at you and sputtered out "that's not true" crap. You cut him off.
"You're special- a miracle of the world. You do realize this right? How could an ordinary village girl compete with destiny? I was never good enough. Sure I help people with medicine but Yam could easily heal someone by a flick of her hand. I could fight at some extent but not against an army or mythical creatures like Masmur or Drakon. I can't Djinn equip."
Then you let out a hollow laugh, "I can't do anything! I'm nothing. So I left you before you left me!"
There was just silence as Sin processed the truth. Then a tiny soft whisper you probably wouldn't have heard but you did.
"But I loved you."
.....I loved you
..............I loved you
.....................I loved you
These three words rang in silence.
It can't be true. It just can't....because we are talking about the guy who couldn't even distinguish yourself as a female.
The one who was a family to you, specifically like a brother and even laughed at the generals' futile attempts of setting you guys up.
More importantly......
How could he love an mundane girl like yourself? Especially a horrible selfish girl like you. But when you looked up, it wasn't just betrayal in his eyes but also heartbreak. You wanted to say sorry but the words were stuck in your throat.
"...I'm."
Then before you could finish, Sharrkan rolled down in front of you two, out of a bush with a meek nervous smile. He dusted off his pants and shakily stood up, ".......So How's it going guys?"
