From Motor City to the Michigan line
The cops were ready to pounce
I left town in a heated frenzy
Beating cheeks back home for the South
Rolled into Macon around two-thirty
The band was ready and primed
We gave it our all until the sun came up
And then it was Miller time
Everybody's worried 'bout the asteroid coming
The one that's gonna kill us all
In the meantime, sugar, let's grab a burger
And go out and have us a ball
Those honky-tonk girls have all grown up
Traded pony tails for fading tatoos
But the music's still here and so am I
And so, my dear are you
Till the big ball falls, lets deck the halls
Get out on the floor and dance
Kick up our heels and give 'em a show
While we still have the chance
Everybody's got their telescopes out
With their eyes up in the stars
In the meantime, honey, forget about money
We'll rock until we close this bar
