Prologue
Chase’s POV
Since I could remember I knew that Callie was my mate. She was just so beautiful and made me feel whole whenever I was with her.
I met her at Alpha Kent’s celebration of their third child, Joseph.
That was just one of the thoughts going through my mind; the other was that soon I will be Alpha.
In two months I will be taking over the Alpha position from my father and I will see Callie again.
She has been at a boarding school in London for the last three years now. Just thinking of her stirred my wolf and gave me a massive erection. I have missed her so much, I wonder if she will complete high school here. If she does I will be able to see more of her and I wouldn’t have to find easy lays anymore.
Dean has been working on my nerves telling me Callie will be pissed if she ever finds out that I have been sleeping around while she was at boarding school. My wolf agreed with him, but there was no way I will be telling Callie what I have been doing and I will just order Dean, who will become my Beta, and my third in command to make sure they and the rest of the pack keep their mouths shut.
“Chase, you sure rise high in the morning.” Mimi said, her voice hurt my ears but I ignored it. She might not be the smartest girl I have ever slept with, but she was and is wild in bed.
Mimi climbed on top of me and started kissing me from my neck down to my chest.
I could hear my wolf growling at me, but I ignored him. Someone was knocking on my room door and judging from the voice it was Dean.
“Come in.” I said as Mimi continued her assault on me.
“I was hoping you would be a little more decent seeing as it is already noon.” Dean said, his hand was covering his eyes. He was the lucky one in the family, he inherited our mom’s black hair and green eyes that always made the girls swoon over him, while I inherited our father’s brown hair and brown eyes. “Dad wants you in his office, you got five minutes.”
“Okay, Mimi babe we can carry on with this later. I need to talk to my dad.” I said, lifting her off of me.
From the corner of my eye I could see Dean roll his eyes and walk out of my room. “Idiot,” he whispered.
I got to my father’s office and closed the door behind me as he instructed me to.
A scent that I could never forget hit my nose. I smiled as I realized it belonged to my beautiful mate. I turned around and saw Callie standing behind me.
“Callie, I missed you.” I said and gathered her in my arms and squeezed her tight.
“Let go.” She giggled. “I can’t breathe, Chase, my dad is going to kill you if you hurt his little girl.”
I let go of her and smiled down at her, her violet eyes still held the same love for me as they did the first day I met her all those years ago.
“I missed you too, Chase.” She said and stood on her tip toes to give me a quick peck on my lips. As if something was wrong, she pulled away from me and growled at me. Her whole expression went from love and happiness to pure hatred and sadness.
“Callie, what is wrong?” My father asked.
“Ask your son.” Was all she said before she shifted into her white wolf with silver and sky blue streaks in her fur, just like her mother’s wolf except for the black on her tail and front paws. She ran out of the office and pack house so fast that I knew there will be no way for me to catch her.
I just lost my mate, all because I couldn’t keep my little friend in my pants.
There was growling behind me, so I turned around and saw Dean standing by the door with his arms crossed. “You are an idiot, I warned you as your brother and soon to be Beta I had warned you. You screwed up man.” Dean said, before he too shifted into his black wolf and ran out.
I fell to the floor; I was in so much pain. It felt like someone was ripping my heart from my chest.
“Chase, Chase. What is wrong, son?” My father asked as he knelt down beside me, his voice was filled with panic.
The last thing I saw before I blacked out, was my mate’s face as she said the words; “I hate you, Chase Rogan.”
