Too Many Miles

Chapter One

I pushed open the door and rushed upstairs, eager to see if he was online. I tapped my foot impatiently; my

computer really needs to speed up.

As soon as the computer had turned on, I clicked the Minecraft shortcut. It opened and I saw that there were eight players online.

I clicked "join server" and waited as it loaded. I held down the tab button to see who's on, and then I see it.

Mathemarvel.

My cheeks get flushed and my face gets hot as he private messages me, "hi!"

I know it's only a simple "hi," but I can't help but smile. No matter what he says to me, it won't change my thoughts about him. I've actually told him that before.

Our friendship all started by meeting on a server called Fear of Mobs. My neighbor, Garret, told me about it, and I was eager to try it out.

I went on for the first time, and I was welcomed by Matt. We became instant friends, and we always private messaged each other.

We were on Minecraft almost everyday, and our friendship started to grow.

One time I went on, and I found out Matt had a girlfriend. I wasn't super mad, but I was a little jealous.

I switched chat channels and Matt and his girlfriend, Cami, were on. All I saw was Matt saying to Cami, "I will never let you down my dear." She replied, "Good! :)"

I was crushed and I didn't know why. I knew they were going out, and I didn't have feelings for him.

Or so I thought.
