Cold... That was a word you could use to describe Wisconsin. When you asked someone about how Wisconsin was, cold was the word. And that's how Wisconsin was that night. It was a very cold night in the city of Milwaukee, Wisconsin. A snowstorm ruled the whole state, making everyone in the towns and cities hide inside their houses where there was heat coming from the chimneys and heaters. It was one of the strongest storms that year and you couldn't find a single soul through the streets, not even the craziest of crazy people would dare open their door and step out. God, someone could freeze their feet just standing in the snow. The only living things that were outside were the bravest birds and dogs without a home. Everyone was safe and sound inside their house where there was heat. Maybe watching TV, sleeping or gazing outside at the storm through their windows. Everyone loved to do that, let the quiet whispers of the wind around them. But, it was awfully silent, you couldn't hear the wind or the snow or even just homeless dogs barking at the sky. There wasn't a single person, you couldn't hear anything.

But, then she took a step, coughing out cold mucus out of her lungs. She struggled to keep her balance, like a baby that was learning how to walk. She stumbled, scratched her knees and her arms were starting to get covered in dark bruises. However, after a few minutes, she finally started walking. Though, the snow was stopping her, making her trip, land painfully and then struggle to get up.

There was something weird in her, no matter how many times she fell down and got another bruise or cut, she wouldn't complain. She even started bleeding through her cheek, but she wouldn't even clean the blood that was dripping on the ground. She looked at the sky, but all she could see was darkness and sparkly snowflakes that made her think that they were crystals.

A six year old girl was walking alone through the roads in the countryside. Her old clothes were torn and even a bit burned. Her pale face was hidden by her locks of long, blonde hair she had. But, even though her face was pale, her body was surprisingly warm. The girl looked around but she couldn't see anything. The snow made her unable to see properly. She coughed loudly, noticing the water-vapor coming out of her mouth. She kept walking and walking through all the snow and the wind, but she didn't stop walking.

The poor girl tried to scream to find help when she couldn't keep walking or even breathing correctly, but nobody came. She started running even though her legs told her they couldn't move anymore. But she kept on going, trying to find help she knew she couldn't find. There were no lights coming from the houses, and even less coming from cars. It was normal, who could possibly be out on the road in winter? Especially when there was snowstorm at night.

Nobody knew why that little girl was there. People rumored that she was abandoned due to her state of hunger and beaten up. There were tons of theories, but none of them were confirmed. But that little girl didn't care why she was there, she just wanted someone to save her. And she was lucky someone found her before she fell to the ground dead. Before falling, a light shined in her eyes, and it wasn't the light at the end of the tunnel, it was the light of a car. The same car that would of run her over if it wasn't for her loud scream.

That was was so loud that even the couple that were driving heard it. The car suddenly stopped when they saw the little girl's figure in the snow. The driver stomped on the breaks and luckily stopped before it hit the girl. The little girl looked at the car with fear in her eyes, like if she had never seen a car before.

She thought about running for her life when she saw the figure of a guy coming out of the car, but her legs decided it was time to stop working. She was so tired she couldn't even move, she thought she was dead.

"What are you doing alone?" a male voiced asked her.

The girl shook her head, not knowing what to respond. The couple thought that she didn't know how to speak english. Until, they asked her about her parents. Her eyes filled up with tears as she admitted that she had no idea where she was or who her mom was. She only remembered her name and her name, but no last names.
