It was gloomy outside. He felt as though everyone was gone.
"The streets were livley this morning......"
Walking to his car across the street from the building, he felt uneasy and excited. He fantasized about the new things he would get, like a new house.
He finally reached his car and drove to the address on the little sheet of paper the woman gave him.
------------------------
He felt so alone in the house.
In all his life, he never had felt such a feeling. He tried to think what made him feel this way, but something was telling him to dismiss the uncanny feeling.
He thought that he would feel at least a little pleased, but it didn't come.
As he studied the house from the inside, he realized it looked familiar.
The way the furniture was placed, even the rooms had a sense of familiarity in them.
"Peculiar..." Worker #1958 mumbled.
"They say everything's new, but it seems that isn't the case. I wonder...."
He walked around the empty house, only to find a stack of papers lying on his bed, stating,
"Packet needs to be signed. Due first day of work."
Worker #1958 sighed grabbed the packet, sat on the bed and got to signing.
When he finally was done, he layed down in his new bed, turned off his new lamp, and went to sleep, hoping for new dreams.
