The first thing Bucky said when he woke up in an abandoned warehouse with a new cybernetic arm and Captain America standing a few yards away was, "What the fuck, Steve?" Unless cursing in incoherent Russian counts as first words... Either way, Steve Rogers was there to reassure his half cyborg friend of the circumstances of his sudden removal from his cyrostasis chamber in Wakanda. Dressed in his street clothes- a simple white t-shirt, jeans, a hoodie, and boots- Steve leaned against a pillar, watching his friend as he slowly and stiffly stood up, testing out his recently attached cybernetic limb. His movements were fairly sluggish due to the fact that he was forcibly and suddenly removed from a frozen chamber. As much as Steve would have liked to abide by his friends wishes to wait out a cure, a situation such as the one he was in needed a man of his caliber. And while he would never admit it out loud, he couldn't imagine losing his best friend again.

"This better be good, Rogers, or I won't be the only one with a metal arm," Bucky grumbled as he cautiously looked around the empty warehouse, flexing the fingers on his metal arm.

"It's safe here," Steve said as he pushed off from the wall. "I made sure of it. But that's the least of our worries. I didn't break you out because I missed you."

Bucky rolled his eyes, his shoulders slowly relaxing once he realized that the area was, in fact, secure.

"Okay. Are you going to tell me what's going on or do I have to find out on my own?" Bucky asked, crossing his arms over his chest.

Steve let out a deep sigh before removing three newspaper clippings from the pocket of his hoodie. He unfolded them and handed them to Bucky.

"Shortly after putting you into the cryostasis chamber and rescuing the others from the Raft, we took refugee underneath the old Avenger's headquarters. Of course, we kept up with the current events in case something minor happened that one of us could handle alone. Everything was fine until she started showing up all over the news."

"She?" Bucky perked up. He doubted he knew the person, but Steve had caught his interest.

"Yes, she," Steve confirmed. "Every few days, these pictures," he pointed to the newspaper clippings, "show up on the news. She's been slowly killing off people she claims have betrayed her creators. Nobody would ever be able to put this together unless they knew about what goes on behind closed doors, but every single one of the victims were traitors of HYDRA. Normally, I wouldn't be defending HYDRA operatives, but it's gotten out of hand. She's started taking out innocent civilians and I can't allow it to continue."

"It seems like a pretty easy job. Why do you need me?" Bucky dropped his arms, suddenly becoming very suspicious of why Steve had brought him back from Wakanda.

"Because she's no ordinary human, Buck. She's faster, she's stronger and no one sees her coming," Steve drawled out, hoping Bucky might see the connection. "That sound familiar to you?"

Steve saw the wheels turning in Bucky's head, but he decided to continue anyway.

"The Avengers are out of commission and one of us can't take her out alone. That's one reason why you're here," Steve said, shoving his hands into his pockets. "The other is that I'm almost positive that you know her, because she's looking for you Bucky and we think you know why. Does Lieutenant Winters ring any bells?"

And then the cloud that blocked Bucky's thoughts disappeared and memories of his time in Siberia came back to him full force. He almost stumbled backwards with the weight of the memories, clenching his fists. He started cursing in Russian as he turned his back on Steve, slamming his metal arm into the pillar rooted next to him. A large chunk of its cement smashed into pieces at his feet.
