Kian's POV
Waking up next to her is like a dream, our bodies entangled and our light breathing as we sleep. I like waking up before her, although it is rare I love it. Being able to watch her at her most vulnerable state, her mouth slightly open and her face relaxed. I move, taking my arm out from under her gently. I shake it a little bit in attempt to get its feeling back and she stirs.
"Goodmorning." I say, smiling at her. She brings her hands to her face, extending her legs out.
"Why?" She complains and I laugh, pulling her hands from her face. Reece, the things you do to me.
I walk into Goodwin's class and look towards my seat, and notice that Alaska is sitting in the seat behind me instead of the usual guy with shaggy hair. My eyes flicker to her seat in the front, and there sits shaggy.
I step up the short long steps to my seat, placing my bag on the floor next to my seat. I plop into my seat, getting out my binder and pulling out the horribly written journal entry I was assigned to read.
The seats begin filling up, and soon Goodwin gets up to close his door. He stands at the front of the room and begins his lesson.
"Okay, today I'm going to collect the journals you were supposed to highlight and give them back to the rightful owners, then you are going to read what that person wrote about your writing and reflect on it. Hopefully, this will help you grow as a writer and open your eyes as to what you are letting people know about you."
I sat, feeling almost numb. I have a feeling that that comment was directed towards me, if not a few other people here too. I feel a tap on my shoulder after Goodwin collects the work I did last night.
"Hey." Alaska says once I turn to face her.
"Hi." I whisper, not really in any mood to talk to people.
"You're sad, I know that much about you, Kian. I think more people pay attention to you than you think."
"I'm not gonna apologize for being sad. I have a perfectly good reason." I say just above a whisper, failing to make eye contact with her fiery emerald eyes.
"Kian." She says very seriously, and I finally make eye contact with her. "I had your entry, about you and Reece." My breath gets caught in my throat, not knowing what to feel.
"I-I..."
"You're an amazing writer. It was beautiful, saddening." I stare at her, totally not knowing what to feel. "I really want to help you, will you let me help you, Kian?"
"I-" I stop myself, thinking for a little. She stays quiet, and after 5 minutes I slightly nod my head before faintly replying, "Yes."
I watch as her face slowly forms into a big smile, her lips cracking and her skin wrinkled around her eyes. "Kian, I'm going to make you so damn happy."
