ASHTON'S POINT OF VIEW~~~~

I slammed the phone down, hard.  I heard the screen crack.  "No, Jesus, no.  Let me wake up.  This is all a dream, right?"  I yelled, throwing the duvet off of the bed and smashing the lamp on our bedside table.  "WHY ME?"  I yelled at the wall, grabbing Lucia's hairbrush and throwing that on the ground too.  I was a tornado, spinning our fo control.  I didn't know what I was doing.  I knew that if I kept up ruining everything, (1) Lucia would hear, and (2) they would kill her family and me.  Both of those options sucked.  I guess it was a lose- lose situation.  I stood silently, my breathing quickened, as I pulled out my laptop and opened Amazon.com.  I had to buy a new lamp.

I walked out of the bedroom and made my way towards the kitchen to make some breakfast.  A scent greeted me when I entered the room.  I saw Lucia struggling to balance a plate of bacon and my favorite thing ever- McDonalds McGriddle.  It was going to be so hard to leave her.  'Why did you do this?"  I gasped, taking in the sweet smell of pancake and bacon.  "I.. figured you needed some.. cheering up" she smiled.  That beautiful smile.  Oh god.

I knew I shouldn't have eaten the breakfast.  I knew I shouldn't have kissed her roughly and licked the syrup from her lips.  I knew I should have yelled at her and made her hate me.  I couldn't.  Not that soon, anyway.  I knew her kind actions were making it harder on me to do the deed I was being forced to do.

"So," she declared.  We were both sitting at the table still, finishing the remains of breakfast.  "What was that phone call about?  Oh, and, what was that noise I heard earlier?"  She asked, her eyebrow raised.  I struggled to think of something believable to tell her.  I had always been a good liar.  I was a trouble maker as a child, what can I say?  "I was talking to my sister.  She said my brother, Harry, got in an accident.  He broke his back." I lied, looking away from her beautiful grey- green eyes.  I felt bad that not even a sliver of what I was saying was true.  "Oh my gosh, we need to go to the hospital and see if hes' okay!"  She yelped, jumping out of her chair.  Oh no.  I did not expect that reaction.  "Uh.." I intonated, searching for something to say.  "He's in a hospital in Vegas.  Las Vegas.  He broke his back in a casino."  I tried.  I knew she probably wouldn't want to go to Vegas.  Or would she?

"We have to go and see if he is okay."  She begged.  Pain flashed across her face.  "He is your only brother, Ashton"  She said sweetly, fear in her eyes.  "You two aren't fighting, are you?"  "Oh, no, no, we aren't fighting.. its' just that Vegas is on the other side of the world.  It's a long way away."  I stalled.  "We will make it work, Ash"  she smiled, kidding my cheek.  I tried on a very fake grin.  "Yeah, okay.  I guess we will."  Suddenly and idea flashed through my mind.  The perfect way to leave her without breaking her heart.  It would break my heart, though.
