Another one down. Darkspawn are becoming increasingly easy to take down. It doesn't really present a challenge anymore. "Quest done. Let's go back to the Denerim chantry and tell the sister at the chanter's board. Should get some gold from this." Everyone cleaned up and readied to walk back while I gathered what loot I could find. After this I should have enough to get us our winter gear. And the drake scales I gave Master Wade should be ready now.

The journey back is not long and uneventful. Once the chanter pays us for our work we stock up on necessities and decide on a route to Redcliffe. The trip will be long and likely filled with darkspawn, not too hard. We can easily handle a small group of darkspawn.

So why did it have to be walking corpses this time. Like the circle tower wasn't bad enough Redcliffe had to be having problems too. Can't anything go smoothly in this blasted blight. Oh that's a good one, bookmark that for later.

"We are going to help right?" I looked up at Alistair, he had put on his best puppy face. "Of course we are! What do you think we're all heathens?" He scoffed. "Well..." He looked at Morrigan. I held in my laughter. "Come on let's go before it's too late."

Walking around and finding people, and things for people, was time consuming. First we ran into a crying girl, her brother was lost, thankfully Wynne was there to convince him to come out of the closet. I was even able to purchase a nice sword from him, I'm short five gold but Alistair seems happy with his new weapon so I'm not complaining.

After that I had to talk a very sad drunk man into opening the smithy back up, not an easy task. I really hope I am able to find his daughter, else it will all have been for naught. Next I needed to re-assure Murdock all would be fine and he told me of Dwyn who I ran off to convince to aid in defending the village.

I made a stop into the grocery store hoping to buy supplies, but it was empty except for a few oil crates. Those may still be useful. I'll tell Ser Perth of them.

Next I delivered a letter to a man in a house and made a stop into the inn. Thankfully the inn had the supplies I needed. I also ended up offering to help a poor girl leave her horrid job here, I'll pay her after the battle, and convinced an elf to aid in the efforts against the monsters plaguing the village. He thought he could fool me but he was wrong. It seems Loghain really does have something to do with the Arls illness, but what?

Then I had to collect some 'blessed' amulets for Ser Perth and his men. Faith is a powerful thing indeed. He seemed less stress when I told him he would have them, I also told him of the oil crates in the grocery and he agreed using them could be helpful.

Now here we stand, ready to defend a somewhat crumbling village from ravenous monsters. The sun is setting and they will attack soon, but we are ready. We will not lose to these creatures. I will kill all that threaten the weaker. It is my duty to defend.

I unlatch my battle axe and ready myself. I watch carefully as the first few corpses make their way down the mountain. Flames envelop them and they slow down, Alistair, Leliana, Wynne and I rush forward to dispatch them. Ser Perth and his men, Dwyn, and the Elf provide backup.

After some time one of the men from the Militia comes to ask for assistance. I tell Ser Perth to stay and hold this position before running to aid them, Alistair, wynne, and Leliana follow me.

The village was safely defended, but there was still more to do. We still needed to take back the castle. Lady Isolde was not making it easy, demanding that Teagan return with her. I tried to convince him this was a bad idea but he wouldn't hear anything of it, which I can understand. It's his family that's in danger after all. We agreed that he would go in with Isolde and that I would sneak in through the secret passage, and that I would let Ser Perth and his men in. A simple enough task.
