Emotions such as: pain, happiness, sadness, emptiness, etc; are only diseases that need to be cured indefinitely. There was a time when I once thought that being happy is what makes life so special, but that was just a child's innocence and useless fascination. Adults, like my father, understood that with any amount of happiness comes an overwhelming amount of despair. He once asked me: What is the point of being happy knowing that eventually despair will come to claim you, it will squeeze you with the perfect balance of pressure, not enough to turn your bones to dust, but enough to make you never want to move again; while its venom slowly poisons your body into a weak decrepit husk? When you think it's about to kill you it releases you and a short distance away you see a cure for the venom of despair, happiness. You fully understand that it's a trap put in place by the monster which is despair, but you still indulge in the pleasures of happiness and you wait for despair to take you once again. While you do nothing but consume the morsels of happiness left there to make you a more appealing meal. My son will you become one of the flock preyed upon by despair or will you become a predator who consumes the foolish flock that you create? I wasn't sure what my father meant by that, but later that night I realized which role my father wanted to play. I saw him in the middle of feasting upon my family. I was sure I was next on his menu, but instead he left me in the warm pool next to my mother and sister who grew ever colder. Either he was full or he just wanted to have me for take out later when I'm ready for consumption. On that night I choose to never to feel anything anymore.
