He stands there staring at me. I wiggle under his grasp trying to push against his strong grip.

"What did you say?" He questions quietly.

I stare into his eyes, the dark storm clouds were gone. "I'm not afraid of you." I return matching his hushed tone.

His grip loosen on my wrist, the fingers of his left hand gently brush against my cheek. "You're not afraid of me?" He questions quietly in disbelief.

I gently shake my head. "No Klaus."

His deep blue green eyes stare at me, I bring my hand up gently placing it over his. After a moment he harshly pulls his hand back, taking a step back.

"You don't know me." He states bitterly.

"I don't need to know. Regardless of what you put in front of me, my option won't change."

"You don't know me." He states louder. "My true self would shatter you to pieces."

I look up at him. "Have you not been your true self with me?" I question.

"We should get you home." He states avoiding my question.

I quickly back away from his grasp. "Not until you answer me."

"There is a reason your friends don't want me near you Serena."

"What are you saying?"

He looks down at me. "I am a monster Serena." He begins a hint of sadness in his voice. "This person you've come to know is not me."

I shake my head. "I don't believe that."

"Believe what you want." He snaps bitterly, quickly sweeping me up in his arms. "But your naive attitude will get you killed." His whispers harshly in my ear.

I stare at the wall, not listening to the noise around me. It's been a week since I've seen Klaus and he has stopped all contact with me. I guess he's out of my life for good now, everything can go back to normal.

"What's wrong?" Marcus questions taking a seat next to me.

"I'm just tired." I state quietly.

"Why don't you go get some sleep." He states point his head towards my room.

I nod, quietly standing up soon disappearing behind my door. I don't know why I am so upset. I guess it's because Klaus was my friend, sort of. And with how he looked at me, I guess, I just thought I meant more to him. Maybe he was right, maybe I am naive. But still, if this is were we would end up why peruse the friendship to begin with?
