The world today as we see it, is a cruel inhumane place. Humans, in fact, are disgusting creatures. I cannot stand them for the life of me! They think they can take what they want, when they want. It’s gross. I laugh at the face of them. They are arrogant, indecent creatures that should be sent to Hell. But I don’t fucking care. It’s not my decision. I prefer to kill them on sight.

What I am, is a Shifted. A creature amongst the old, young and restless. My form reaches as to 7 feet from ground to shoulder. I am a cream color, rare for my kind, as well as purple eyes. I’m Alphess of FireStone pack. I am the strongest leader out there. So to speak.

My name is Sammi Knoxville. My human form (we can shift between forms of wolf and human) is that of a tan, redhead (quite dark red hair, that shimmers quite fantastically in the sun) and my form is believed to be 17 human years old. My true form was born in 1713, thus making me 200, and I’m young for an Alpha.

“The Council is looking to speak to you in private, Sammi. You know how I feel about them. If you nee—“ Azzuen’s concerning tone hadn’t stuck to me. I turned and put my hand on his chest, and looked into his eyes, flashing a grin at him.

“I’ll be fine, Azzuen. You don’t have to mother me. If I need you, I’ll give you a howl.” I gave him a reassuring smile. Azzuen is my beta, but he really likes me. He ran his hand through his medium brown hair and he looked away.

“Alright, Sammi.” He reached out for a hug. I gladly accepted it.  Once I heard the final beep of my phone, I pulled away. “Good luck.” He said and ran his hand through his hair again.

I nodded and I walked through the mahogany doors into the Council Gathering Room. I took my seat, right next to Dax, the Devils Kettle Pack Alpha. I really liked him, but I knew nothing of him. The room was a dome figure, and has a crystal chandelier that hung from the middle. The room was dimmed just enough, so that the corners were tinted and impossible to see, if you were human.

“Welcome Alphess Sammi. Everyone please silence yourself.” Council head Marcus has stood up. He opened up a power point which showed a man in a mask. A white mask, that hadn’t covered his mouth down. His eyes were green, and familiar. They were sexy. I looked around in case I thought out loud.

“This man, commonly known as Syndicate, has really been known as Head Hunter of our kind. He is in the area at the moment. The Council is ordering all Alphas to halt what they are doing, and bring him down. He has killed hundreds of us.” Marcus’s voice was serious. It was an order by the Council. Violating orders or laws may get you executed.

“Sammi, we’d prefer it if you were the main wolf to do so.” He said and gazed at me. I looked at him and nodded. Inside, I was dying. Why does it have to be me? I am no less or more than anyone else.

“Alright, I know you seem nervous, but you’re the best warrior we have.” Marcus had smiled at me and he dismissed the room. When I walked through the doors, I saw Azzuen leaning against the wall waiting for me. I smiled at him and hugged him. He could tell I was nervous. His scent gave it away.

“What happened?” He asked in a concerned voice. I took a breath and just walked backed to the main entrance of the building. The walls were a royal theme. It seemed kind of cool!

I walked to my car, and got in. Waiting for Azzuen to get in, I clicked on the radio. That’s when my favorite artist came on, Hunter Hayes. I know I am 200 years old, but I can still like today’s music. Azzuen opened the passenger door and he got in the car.

“You remember the stories about Syndicate right?” I asked him, not looking at him. My hands on the wheel and my eyes focused on the road. I began to drive us home in my pick-up truck.

“Yes. Why?” Azzuen turned down my radio. He hated Country music, which I never got. He’s grown up listening to Country Music with me, and he grew up in the country.

“Well, Marcus ordered me to be the main wolf to go after him. He’s killed hundreds of us and he’s in the area.” I said with not a single hint of emotion. But all I could think about was why was his green eyes so… familiar?

Don’t forget they’re sexy as hell! My wolf barked at me. I smirked but shook my head, not wanting those thoughts in my head. I cannot let that happen.

“Oh. Well we’ll get through this together. Don’t tell the pack… they will flip out.” Azzuen had a point. I nodded.

“I just… The Council is counting on me to find Syndicate. Where do I even start?” I asked, not expecting an answer.

“Surprises are Surprises.” I could hear the smirk in Azzuen’s voice.
