Once upon a time there once lived a happy girl named Jung Soojung. She lived happily and carefree with her loving mother and doting father.
However, when Soojung was only seven years old her happy and carefree life came to a halt when her mother tragically passed away due to her illness.
Soojung and her father tried to carry on their lives as normal, although for Soojung it was always apparent the sadness that resided in her lonely father's eyes after the loss of his beloved wife.
Soojung's world began to quickly disintegrate the year that she turned thirteen because it was in this year that her father met Kim Young-hee.
Krystal's father selflessly believed that his daughter needed a mother in order to feel complete so quickly married Young-hee.
Kim Young-Hee had two daughter who were twins and were the same age as Soojung. Their names were Rachel and Paige. Although they were beautiful they were also very toffee nosed. They carried with them an air of hostility for their new step sister.
Just when Soojung believed no more tragedies could befall on her, two years after his marriage to Young-Hee, Soojung's father passed away after he drowned during one of his boating trips. Since her father had never written a will, everything Soojung's father owned: his house, money, car, and the small cafe him and Soojung's mother had opened together, which was very popular amongst tourists, immediately became Young-Hee's.
Soojung was now utterly alone and orphaned, making her the perfect prey for her evil step mother and spoilt step sisters.

"Soojung," Krystal abruptly awoke two weeks after her eighteenth birthday to the sound of Paige screaming at her, "why are my clothes not ironed!? Do you expect me to go to school with wrinkly clothes!?"
"I'm coming," yelled Krystal irritatedly. She forced herself to get up from her warm bed in order to iron her step sister's clothes. She was already exhausted due to sleeping late last night after her step mother decided to have a very messy dinner party and then make Soojung clean the mess before she went to sleep.
When Soojung found Paige, a dress was thrown in her face. Soojung closed her eyes to resist the urge to throttle her step sister.
Whilst Krystal ironed Paige's dress, Rachel came squeeling into the room with her phone clutched tightly in her hand.
