Wow it’s really hot out here. That’s all that was going through my mind as I waited outside of the airport for her to come out. Rory should’ve been here about an hour ago, the plane should’ve landed by now. Must’ve been held up. I was brought back to earth by a blonde girl tackling me.
“RORY!” I yelled at the colorful girl on top of me.
“EMMA!” She yelled back, standing up. She was very colorful. It almost hurt my eyes, but I guess this was normal for her. She brushed her hair out of her face, and walked towards me, hugging me very tightly. I had dreamed about this for weeks, and having planned it beforehand made it so much better. I grabbed some of her many bags and walked towards my beat-up van. I had my sister, Tori, paint it like the Ghostbusters van to see how many people noticed or gave me strange looks. It was actually pretty funny, seeing all their expressions. It looks pretty accurate actually. Tugging the back door open, I started putting bags into the van. Once I was sure that all the bags were in, Tori had once left some of her luggage at the airport, in front of the car, I closed the door, making sure it was locked. It tended to come open when I was driving. Sadly I inherited my driving skills from my mother. My mother, the one who drives over trashcans and mailboxes. I walked over to the driver’s side, opened the door and hopped in. She was already seated and buckled up, hopping in her seat. I buckled my seatbelt, and closed the door. I jammed the key into the right place this time, and started the car. I was excited too, and a little bit nervous. It was really happening. This was really happening, my dream. I started driving, just narrowly missing a light post. Apparently my excitement and nervousness affected my driving too.
Making it back to my small apartment alive, I thanked the gods for not letting me die when I almost hit that guy on the motorcycle. Rory was talking animatedly, and I was about to scream from all the excitement. I unlocked the door, and stepped into the almost spotless room.
"Sorry if it's a little messy," I apologized, hauling the bags into the main hallway. It was actually pretty big for an apartment, there were three bedrooms, one was mine, one was Tori's, and the last was a guest/office room. The guest room was painted weirdly, different shades of blue mixed together to form a sort of scene. Tori painted it, her being the only one with any art talent. I had book smarts, and she was creative. We were a good pair. The reason the room was blue is because I read that blue helps you think. Tori painted the entire apartment, with my supervision. I chose the colors for it all, and they looked pretty good with the furniture. I picked out all the furniture in all the rooms, and most of it was made up of really light colors. The apartment was perfect. My room was a bit different from the rest of the house. The wall was painted like the inside of a minecraft house, and the furniture is really blocky. I even had Tori paint the door to look like a minecraft door. The bookshelves in my room were probably my favorite part. They were exact models of the minecraft bookshelves, and the front of them was a door that opened, and voila there was my massive collection of books. It was almost exactly like my minecraft house. I even bribed Tori to give me the master bedroom, the only one with the bathroom connected to it. She painted the bathroom to go with the minecraft theme too. I was actually jealous of Tori's creativity skill. I was brought back to the real world by falling on my face. Beautiful. I looked up to see blonde hair in my face, and saw Rory. I pushed her off and grabbed some bags, running towards the guest room. I heard rapid footsteps behind me, and fell into the room with Rory on top of me. "GAH!" I yelled, wiggling out from under her.
