Texting Shawn Mendes: Reality over Fantasy any day

'What is there to be over?' I reply, rolling my eyes.
'Us' he replies.
'Us what?'
'A potential friendship' Shawn says.
'Was there really potential?'
'I thought so.'
'Okay well I don't even know who tf you are. You could be a serial killer for all I know'
'I'm not.'
'Right. Okay then.'
'I'm not.'
'I have to go. There's a live stream on younow I should be watching.' I lie.
'You never answered me' he replies. I ignore it and close my eyes to try and sleep.

Five minutes pass and I'm still not sleeping. I consider getting up to get food, but reconsider when I get a notification that Shawn Mendes is live on YouNow.
SHAWN FREAKING MENDES!
I open YouNow and click his live stream.

"Hey guys! I have a problem that I need you lot to help me with." He says. "I got contacted by someone i dont know and it turns out it was a wrong number. They didn't mean to text me, but someone else."
I type in the live chat 'what's her/his name?'
Shawn looks at his spammed screen and answers.
"She says her name is Hailey. Whether that's her real name or not i dont know,"
I spam the chat with: 'THATS MY NAME!!! OH MY GOD!!' repeatedly.

I read the chat section and everyone is spamming their own phone numbers.
"And she's funny guys! I want to make a friendship with her. I see potential with us. But i dont know how to move forward. I don't think she likes me."
I pout. Poor Shawn. It reminds me of something, but I blank on what.
"So what do I say to her? To Hailey?" He sighs, pushing his hair out of his eyes.
People comment like crazy, trying to get noticed.
I smile and just watch Shawn reading the chat.
"Okay, I know what I'm going to say. I really want to be friends with you, what do you say?" He smiles. He gets his phone out and types.
"Okay, I sent it." He grins. I want to know what she says. I will share our conversation with you."
I get a text notification, so I lean back and get my phone.
It's Shawn. The guy I was texting. Not Shawn Mendes. What a coincidence!
It reads: 'I really want to be friends with you, what do you say?' Wait what? WHAT?
