A Day in Town

I awake to a yowling sound in the morning, as usual. I jump up and grab some knifes and my bow. I sharpen a few arrows and knives. I shove one knife in my boot and the other three in my belt. Then put throw my arrows and bow onto my back then grab my satchel and head to town.

As I arrive I spot the man who sent me after the beast from last night. I walk over and say, " I killed that beast last night so pay up."

" How much?" He snaps. "250." I say harshly. "No way am I paying that much!" He shouts. Geez angry much? I think to myself. "Fine then I'll just kill your livestock myself, and believe me, I will!" I snarl.

Just as I finish my sentence J.D. shouts," Yeah she will!" With a huge grin on his face. I glance at him then turn back to the man. I say, " Give me the money or else I'll sell your animals carcasses! And if you don't pay me soon it'll be 300, and I know where you live!" I give him an icy glare and walk over to J.D. who is standing in front of the butcher shop. I smile at him and say,"How's life."

"Fine I guess much better after you got rid of the beast killing the stock." He says.

J.D. is a good man he has two kids and a wife. They live on the outside of town on a farm with a couple horses, cows, and sheep. I buy milk from him every now and then and his wife makes blankets for me. I'm sure you know I killed a beast that had killed a few of there sheep. We made an agreement since they don't have much money that they would supply me with milk, and blankets. I'm not greedy with the agreement, I only talk what I need. I actually have two horses in my barn, it's as safe as my house so I don't worry about them much I just feed hay and grain every now and then.

Anyway I tell J. D. about last night and how I have to find that body sometime today. He asks me,"Are you sure you killed it?"

"Well of course I killed, every time I even poked something with that knife it died. That's actually the problem though, you see that animal last night broke it and the blade got stuck in it's cheek."

"Well anyway do you need anything because we have lots of supplies if you need any." He says.

"No I'm fine thanks though. I need to look for that body so see you later." I reply.

Dang I hope I find that body. Mostly because I want my knife blade.
I got that knife when I killed my first beast, a long slithery thing covered in scales and had long, thick, matted hair on its face two legs with long sharp claws enabling it to climb up trees pretty darn fast. It had the eyes of a venomous snake and it's ears were long and pointy and they flattened when it bared its teeth. Its teeth were razor sharp and stuck out when he roared. Oh and man could he roar! It was an ear splitting shriek that could easily knock a normal person unconscious pretty easily. For me it only left a ringing in my ears for a long period of time. Before he attacked his eyes would glow as he stood on his legs. He would stand proudly before striking. That's what made him so easy to kill.

After I slayed the beast I ripped out one tooth and mad it into a knife. I slit his head off and it's still in my trophy room. It hasn't changed one bit since the day it died. I think it's cool but most think it's creepy.

I have always wanted to rid this place of the beasts that terrorize it, ever since I was 7 years old. When I was little I had three sisters and four brothers. My mom was awesome. Every day my mom would make us dinner and dessert every night she would tuck all eight of us into bed and kiss us goodnight. She was perfect. Now pop was a good man, he worked his hands to the bone day in and day out to make sure we had money for food. We had some livestock and we made our own clothes from sheep wool. We also butchered our own meat and got milk and butter from the cows and goats.

One day while I was milking the cow with my sisters a huge animal with long silky fur slithered down from the hill we lived by. He had no teeth or legs but he had a sharp tail and a deadly spit. His eyes were furious and he had the look of death on his face. He first burst through the barn wall where we were milking. It smashed three cows when it burst through along with my two sisters me and my other sister barely survived the first attack. We raced to the house to worn mom but we were to late he had already surrounded the house and was spitting poison all over it. We both screamed and ran to our brothers out with dad but as we got closer we seen the flames and three bodies on the outside edge of the fire.

"NO!!!" We screamed together. I still remember my salty cheeks. I screamed to my sister between the sobs,"The Woods!!" As I finished we both sprinted for the trees. Just as we reached them Anne tripped and broke her ankle. I ran back to help and caught the eye of the beast. He slithered away from the house straight for us! I ran to Anne and she screamed," Go! Just leave me, save yourself warn the village just leave me!!"

"No!!" I cried. " I won't leave you!" I held her tight and we started for the trees by now we are almost there and just then Anne released my arm and fell to the ground but before I could get her up she was already eaten. I cried and sprinted into the trees heading straight for town. I was to far ahead for the creature to care. I ran into the town hall and just broke down into sobs. After awhile the mayor came over and asked what was wrong. I just looked at him with sad puffy eyes and said, "They're all dead, all nine of them." I burst into tears once more.

From then on I've been on my own trying to make money without anyone to talk to. I've been alone since I was 7. Ever since that day I've been determined to kill every last beast that terrorizes a living thing. That was also the last day I cried.

I know this chapter sucks but I had to write something, don't be a silent reader COMMENT!!!
