I run through the forest jumping over dead logs and going under branches. I hear something large behind me, so I keep running. I pull out an arrow and get it ready to shoot. I run with the loaded bow in my hand, suddenly I see a rock wall.

I turn around quickly and aim my bow. I wait for the creature to step into the light. I wait then a paw with bloody, razor sharp claws comes from the brush, then another. Then I see pearly white fangs dripping with blood come out of the darkness. I aim, my fingers barely on the string. I then see a pair of eyes emerge glowing in the light.

As soon as I release my bow it attacks. My arrow pierces its side, but not enough to bring the large creature down. It pins me down and I use another arrow to keep it back. I reach for my knife in my shoe. Almost there.... A little more.... Got It! I clench it in my fist, pull it up and stab the beast right in the neck.

It lets a out loud shriek and stumbles back. It looks at me struck with fear and scrambles away. I fall back and just sit, I'm too weary to stand. I reach for my bow just in case the beast decides to come back. But my bow it was snapped in half, I leaned forward to grab my knife but the blade must have gotten stuck in the creature because it was gone.

Great, just great! Nothing to protect myself, I thought. I struggle to get up and walk home. I'm drenched in the blood of the beast, maybe even my own. When I get home I fasten the twenty five locks on my huge iron door. Then I do the same to the windows. I hop in the shower and wash the blood from my body.I tend to my wounds and double check the locks on my house.
