Andrew could not believe his luck. Boss said two weeks off paid, starting Friday. He sure hoped the letter he got in the mail was true. It had to be, who would spend so much money on handwriting and wax sealing a letter.

 Dear Sir,

You have been invited to a paid-for week in Arizona. All accommodation have been taken care of for you. A carriage will pick you up Friday night. Nothing is required, lodging, food, and drink, plus entertainment have all been prepaid and await you.

Sincerely,

Lord Alucard

Friday could not come soon enough, but he kept wondering who Lord Alucard was. Something about that name? Whatever Dad had said, we had relatives in Britain. I had been there once as a child to visit cousins. It did seem like they had money. That must be it.

Not far away, Bill was just climbing into his truck to start his route. His wife was a bit upset about him going away for a week, but the extra money she was able to spend cheered her up some.

Still, who did he know in Arizona if this letter was not true? Who would give a person an all-paid week vacation? Well, it came at a good time. The wife had to work and with his company's restructuring; they gave everyone two weeks off paid so at least he had something to do. Besides, he might look up, his old friend Randy while he was down there.

What had that letter said, that made his son suspicious of it anyway? Something about the name backward was not a good thing.

 Dear Sir,

You have been invited to an all-paid for a week in Arizona. All accommodation have been taken care of for you. A carriage will pick you up Friday night. Nothing is required, lodging, food, and drink, plus entertainment have all been prepaid and await you.

Sincerely,

Lord Alucard

What did the younger generation know anyways? They never trusted anything these days. Oh well, at least free meals and drinks should be worth it. On the bright side, he would be down there long enough to be able to pick up some cheap cigs and booze from duty-free on the way back up. It should be a fun adventure.

Scott and Brice had not worked together for a long time but really who could pass down such an easy-moving job. Of course forty dollars an hour pay was well worth it and his company would toss in two weeks of paid vacation afterward. Scott was happy about it and looking forward to the much-needed break, and Brice was happy he would have time in the evenings to visit friends and family while back in BC.

How strange though was it, that they both got a letter for a paid in full vacation starting the same day their vacation started.  At least everything was paid for, even their ride down there. Was probably some timeshare company wanting them to fill out a survey about their stay there and trying to sell them a share while at it.

The letters were so cool also. Handwritten, sealed in wax, written on old parchment paper. Must have cost them a fortune just for those. What did they say again?

 Dear Sir,

You have been invited to an all-paid for a week in Arizona. All accommodation have been taken care of for you. A carriage will pick you up Friday night. Nothing is required, lodging, food, and drink, plus entertainment have all been prepaid and await you.

Sincerely,

Lord Alucard

Was strange though, only Brice and Scott got them hand-delivered to them, through their company. Maybe it was from a past customer that thought they had done an excellent job. Either way, a week of free food and drinks was worth it. Hope there are some single chicks there also...

Brice had been talking about it all day. Scott was thinking of all the ways he could protect himself while there, and if he needed to bring extra cigs with him. Both were wondering how many others would be there, and what the free entertainment would be.

Tim was wondering what he was going to be doing for two weeks off. At least it was paid time off, while the fire danger was so high, and they had told them ahead of time. Personally, he thought it was so they could update equipment after the last guy almost got hurt real bad on the job, and went to the state to complain about work conditions. Dam pussy needed to learn how to work like a real man, so he would not be lazying around in the wrong spot again.

Then that strange letter came in the mail. It did not make a lot of sense. It might be from my brother. He did say he had got a new job that came with a lot of perks. Just maybe it had been sent by his boss. But really who would change their name to Alucard. Wonder if he knew it was Dracula spelled backward?

A week of paid vacation, he was not going to pass on that. Plus everything was paid for, even transportation there and back. Like really who would even think of passing on that. What had that letter said again? Oh right, free entertainment also. Was pretty cool how it was sent in that old-style envelope with a stamped wax seal on it. Written in an old style handwriting on parchment paper. Maybe Randy was starting up gaming again, and this was his way to have a week-long game. But really Dear Sir? He knew my name.

 Dear Sir,

You have been invited to an all-paid for a week in Arizona. All accommodation have been taken care of for you. A carriage will pick you up Friday night. Nothing is required, lodging, food, and drink, plus entertainment have all been prepaid and await you.

Sincerely,

Lord Alucard

Would have to remember to pack my handgun, he did say there were a lot of snakes up there this year and even wolves that his neighbors had been complaining about. I hope he doesn't expect me to drink that mead he makes. It is a bit too sweet for my taste, I shall stick to beer or mixed drinks.
