"Victoria! I need you to push harder! You are not going to get any better hitting like that!" Coach Peters yelled at me from the other side of the court.
Getting frustrated, I smashed the shuttle down harder, venting my anger on the shuttle.
"Better. Five minutes break."
Huffing, I put down my racquet in the court and made my way to my bag, my towel hanging on the side of it. I swept the hair sticking to my neck aside, the jersey stuck to my back.
Gulping down some water, I sat down on the bench. Sweat dripping off my face and hair onto the tiled floor.
After five minutes was up, I was made to endure half an hour's worth of physical training. And sprinting four sets around the track is not fun, couple that with planking, leg lifts and endurance. I could feel my abs.
Panting and grunting as I finished my last two minutes planking, I sat down and stretched, feeling the dull ache in my muscles.
I crumpled onto the floor in a heap.
"You have got to stop torturing me like that, Coach."
Coach Peters chuckled and sprayed water on me, making me squeal.
" C'mon Stevens. You should have gotten used to that by now."
" Well, all I'm getting used to is the 4 kilometres you make me run on Fridays."
"Ouh? So should I increase that to 5 kilometres? I mean, it is only 1000 metres more."
I gave him a glare as I sat up.
"I'm quitting if you do that, and I'm your best player."
Coach chuckled, " You're my ONLY female player. "
"See what I mean. Best player."
"C'mon chop chop. My next student is coming."
"Who? "
"I got a new student. And you have to get home. Go! You stinko."
"COACH!"
I stood up, gathered up my racquet, shoes bag, racquet bag, water bottle and towel and exited the hall.
I slowly made my way to the bathroom, set my stuff down on the bench and grabbed my change of clothes and deoderant and went into one of the stalls to change.
I left the bathroom all freshened up. I took out my handphone and messaged my best friend Kelly.
"Tory! Over here!" I looked up from my phone and saw Kelly waving madly at me, her hair dripping wet.
"Wazzupppppp!" I shouted, raising ny hand for a high five.
"Let's go Lee Chong Wei."
"Fine Michael Phelps."
Laughing, we made our way to the bus stop.
