There was a knock at Mark's bedroom door, taking off his headphones he responded.

''Yeah?''

His door opened and Jack popped his head in through the doorway.

''Hey'' he said, a little nervously.

''What's up?'' Mark asked, seeing his shifty stance.

''Mark...I'm gonna be going back to Ireland'' he replied. Mark felt like his entire reality had just shattered around him.

''Wha...what do you mean?'' he asked, his heart beating hard and eyes wide.

''Not for too long, I hope. But...my sister isn't well at all. And I'm gonna go back and be there for her until she gets better'' he responded.

''What's happened to her?'' Mark asked, worried. Jack looked down at the floor.

''We don't know yet, she's going into hospital to see. But I...I wanna be there....you know''

''No, I understand, you need to be with her, Jack'' Mark got up and hugged Jack tightly.

He then started to sob quietly.

''I just hope she's gonna be ok...'' His voice cracked as he buried his head into Mark's chest.

''It's going to be ok, Jack, I know it will'' He pulled away to look at Jack. With his thumb, he gently wiped away the tears on his face. ''When are you leaving?'' Mark asked.

''In a few hours, I only just found out and I wanted to get the first flight I could. But...I also wanted some time to let you know. And I wanted a bit of time to....prepare myself'' Jack explained.

''Prepare yourself for what?'' Mark asked with concern.

''Well, for the trip. And...for...leaving you'' Jack broke down sobbing again.

''No, it's ok, you'll be back. Don't worry about me, it's ok, this is for your family Jack. Please, don't cry'' Mark said as his voice shook a little. Seeing Jack in this state broke his heart.

''Come on, I'll help you pack, then I'll drive you to the airport, ok?'' Mark suggested. With a slow nod, Jack agreed and they walked into his room to pack a bag.

....................................................................................

The drive to the airport was almost silent. Neither could think of anything to say and Jack didn't even seem to want to talk, which hit Mark hard because it was so unlike him. He didn't like it at all, it felt so wrong.

Eventually, he pulled up outside the airport and they got out. Jack grabbed his bag from the car boot. Before he walked inside, he turned to Mark and hugged his tightly.

''I'm gonna miss you, Mark'' Jack said softly. Mark tilted his chin up and gave him a kiss.

''I'm going to miss you too. I hope your sister gets better, send her my wishes'' Mark said sadly.

''I will. But I'll skype you every night, ok'' Jack promised. Mark nodded solemnly. With that, he reluctantly pulled away from Mark and walked to the entrance of the airport. But he turned back one last time to Mark who was standing by the car, looking so lost and alone. He raised his hand and gave a sad wave to his boyfriend. Mark waved back slowly and watched as Jack walked into the building and that door shut behind him.

..........................................

Mark closed his front door behind him. It made a clicking sound, but it soon gave way to the empty silence of the house. It was when he didn't hear the normal, loud Irish accent welcoming him home that It then hit him, Jack just wasn't there anymore. He was now completely alone.

He carelessly threw his keys onto the coffee table and flopped onto the sofa. There he stayed, just staring into the blank, black TV screen. His head was swimming with thoughts on Jack and his sister. But the more he thought, the worse it made his current state, it only made him worry more and more.

Every second seemed like a minute. Time just wasn't going forward anymore, as it seemed.

'Maybe I'll go play a game, or record a video to pass the time' he thought and got up to go into his room. He set everything up, got the game loaded and turned on the camera.

''Hello everybody. My name...is Markiplier....and....welcome to...'' He began but found he could not continue. He sounded obviously upset. So he shook his head quickly to try and compose himself and tried again

''Hello everybody my name is Markiplier and welcome to'' but that sounded forcibly quick and it was still obvious he was clearly not alright. After 2 more attempts, he just found that he wasn't in the right mindset to be recording. So he decided just to play the game instead. However, after it finished loading, he just stayed there with the controller in his hand, not doing anything. With a sigh, he turned off the game and put his equipment away.

Nothing, that what he felt like doing. And that's what he was doing. It had been hours and hours since Jack had left for his flight and Mark had done nothing at all. Because nothing appealed to him right now, there was nothing he wanted to do. It had even extended to the point where, when it came around meal times, he didn't even want to eat.

At the moment he was on his phone just scrolling. However, he went onto YouTube and began watching some of Jack's older videos. It gave him some comfort, but in the end, it only made his absence worse.

Then the skype 'incoming call' sounded and with a gasp, he quickly answered it.

''Hey'' Jack's voice called as he came up on screen.

''Hey, how is it?'' Mark asked. Jack shifted a little.

''They took an x-ray of her head and... she has a tumour''

''Is....is it, Harmful?'' Mark asked.

''We don't know yet; they are running tests to find out. I guess all we can do it pray and hope''

''Yeah. But, how are you doing?'' Mark asked.

''Ok, I guess. I'm just worried. And....'' Jack trailed off.

''And?'' Mark asked.

''I really miss you'' Jack said with a shaky voice.

''I miss you too, Jack''

They talked for hours and they got onto the topic of Mark back at home.

''You had better be eating, I know what you're like, when you get emotional, you don't eat'' Jack said.

''I haven't been eating much, but I have eaten'' Mark admitted.

''Remember to eat! And go to sleep on time, oh, and, be careful around the stove. And-''

''Jack, calm down. I'm fine. Look, it's getting late, YOU need to be the one to go to sleep, especially because you will have jet lag again. So, you promise ME that you're gonna take care of yourself, ok?'' Mark said sternly.

''Ok...'' Jack gave in.

''Ok. Goodnight then Jack, I love you'' Mark said.

''I love you too, Mark'' Jack replied with watery eyes before the call ended and Mark was once again left in a silent house. Before Mark went to bed, he walked into Jack's room and grabbed one of his Sam plushies with him. It still smelled like Jack, he took it with him back to his room and snuggled up to it as he fell asleep.
