When all the stars died, it was the beginning The Old Universe. When the stars closest to Earth exploded, the world went to chaos; everything burned down. Earth went from roads and the tallest of buildings to black ashes and poisoned water. Everywhere you looked, whatever had been there before had been burned to the ground. The worlds population went from 7.4 billion to 5 million in what seem like an instant. World governments created camps all over the world to aid the people who survived. Lochdell, Silverhall, Corvale, Eriton... Pryston. All created for the 'greater good of humanity'. 0.1% of that 5 million where effected by the star explosions; it gave them powers; made them supernatural. My mother was part of that 0.1%.
The earth feared these new beings, these people 'cursed by the sky'. World governments instructed that these 'monsters' be sent to one of their camps, to be tested, but really, tortured.
My mother gained the power to create nature; grow new trees, flowers. It became useful for her and her family as food was hard to come by after the earth's catastrophe. 18 years later, she met my father, a man she dearly loved and cared for. When my mother was 30, she had me. Georgia Bethany Raymond. I was quite a handful, as by the time i was 3 years old I had telekinetic powers and was able to manipulate probability and reality.
I was unable to embrace these powers for long though, as a few weeks later, my family and I decided to go to Pryston Camp because it was safer there; some people who changed didn't change to be good like my mother, but intended to inflict pain upon the people who tortured and dragged us away to their prisons.
Once we where outside the camp gates, I could see armed guards on every wall; standing at every door. We walked up to a man with a serious face and a bald head, holding a large gun in his hand, a bulletproof vest covering his body. As soon as he looked me in the eye, an innocent little girl, he gave the signal to let us inside, he didn't want someone vulnerable like me out here. Wew went inside, and were welcomed by so many smiling faces, one of them a middle aged man with grey hair just above his shoulders.
"Hello!" He said, "I'm Director Matthew Carter head here at Pryston Camp. We are very happy you are here safe with us. A cruel world like that is not a place for people like you." He continued, looking at me in particular.I was going to have a good life here. I could feel it.
