HARPER'S POV:
I walked silently to the double doors of the large theater. I was going to play Sally Longheart, a girl who has fantastical friends and a bunch of other cool things. My character also has a lover, but he doesn't get introduced until the last half of the show.
Anyways, my name is Harper Lucas. I have long hair that was onc
e brown, but since I was 17 I've been dying it whimsical colors. It's pale blue with light purple tips at the moment. I don't really like my eyes. They're pale green, but I wish I had blue eyes.
I grew up in San Diego and moved to Michigan a few years ago. Recently, a director of a musical theater group called my agent and asked him if I would be willing to audition for their group. I think they called it Starkid? I don't completely remember.
My agent said yes and he sent me down to this same theater to audition for the lead roll of Sally Longheart. I didn't meet any of the other cast members, but I met the director. His name was Nick Lang. It's a strange thing to observe, but he had big lips.
Now I walked into the theater, and almost instantly, I walked into a brunette boy who was carrying a cup of juice.
"Oh my gosh! I'm so sorry!" I could feel the heat rush to my cheeks as I noticed that he was an attractive brunette boy.
"Oh it's okay, I didn't need this shirt anyways." he chuckled. "I'm Joey Richter, what's your name?"
"I'm Harper Lucas." I put my hand out to shake his hand and smiled genuinely. "I play Sally Longheart."
"Well Miss Harper, I think it's time you met the rest of the cast." Before I could say anything he had grabbed my outstretched hand and pulled me towards the director's office.
"Come on!" he grinned at me slowing down a little.
"Why are you so excited to introduce me?" I asked him, laughing quietly.
"Because new friendships are EXCITING!" He took my hand again and pulled me even faster to the director's office. The moment we walked in, about 6 people were in there. I shuffled quietly as they looked Joey and I up and down, then glanced at our faces like we had 3 heads.
I suddenly noticed, in a panicked moment, that our hands were still joined. I quickly pulled my hand out of his grasp and I felt myself blush, again.
"Hi guys!" Joey smiled and waved at their faces.
"Hey Joey, who's this?" A girl with brown hair and brown eyes asked.
"Lauren, this is Harper, she's the girl who will play Sally Longheart." he pointed me out. As if they hadn't already noticed me.
"Ummm..hi." I awkwardly waved and half-smiled.
"I'm Lauren, Lauren Lopez!" the brown-haired girl smiled.
"Uh- I'm Harper Lucas." I placed my hand on my forearm and rubbed it.
"Harper, come with me I want to show you your dressing room!" Joey said goodbye to everyone and motioned for me to come towards him. I followed him down the hall for about minute until we stopped at a white door with writing on it:
Harper Lucas
Sally Longheart
It was just like I always wanted. A door with my name on it. I had a feeling that this experience would be very good for me.
