Disclaimer: This is my original post, and if you decide to put it in your own book or on your blog or something, PLEASE give credit to me. If you don't, IT IS PLAGIARISM and I will hunt you down and obnoxiously sing 'Let It Go' into your ear for 6 hours. Understood? Good.

Also, I am not saying that a specific genre of music can only be listened by one gender. I am using them as examples of different genders, so if you identify with a different gender then what I put as the examples, don't leave hate comments. If you must, PM me and we can work it out.

Anyways, I was looking at this picture on Pinterest while talking to my partner (the one above mentioned) and I came across this

and it reminded me of one those posts where they explain sexualities and I already had had a related idea about doing this with music genres bouncing around in my head for a couple of days, and I figured 'Fuck, why not just write it now? (i

So I did and here it is.

Some people like classical music (I'm just going to say that this will represent a girl). And she REALLY LIKES classical music. She doesn't like to listen to anything to any other genres because she only likes classical music (this includes hymns).(Which is fine). Because that's what she likes.

And some people like country music (this'll represent guys). He also doesn't enjoy listening to any other type of music.

But some people (trans) used to 'enjoy' classical/country music because that's all their parents ever played and they were kind of forced into it, but secretly, they enjoy a different genre.

And some people (genderfluid) like ALL different types of music, but some days they like classical more or rock more or something and so they listen to music for however long they feel like that type of music.

And there are some people (demigender/bigender) who like only two different genres (non-binary, generally, and any other one) but they prefer one over the other, but they still enjoy the other genre. (This is my gender, btw; demiguy).

And there are some people (agender) who don't like music at all, for whatever reason.

And some people (random genders that I don't know about) like a really obscure genre of music (like vocoloids or something) that almost no one (except for themselves) has heard of. And people who haven't heard of it (who are usually complete assholes) are like "I've never heard of that. That genre MUST be made up"

Or sometimes you get those really religious dicks who are like, 'You should only be listening to classical/country! Anything else is a sin against God!" (Or some shit like that).

And the people who always liked classical/country sometimes refuse to accept people who transfer from a different genre because, "You haven't been listening to this genre your whole life, you clearly don't love it as much as I do" or "Are you SURE that you don't like that genre anymore?" (even if you never fucking actually liked it).

And some other people don't like other people because of what genre they like because 'they're /different/.' (Seriously. WHAT. THE. FUCK.)

But in the end, we're all still united in one thing: we're all PEOPLE, and EVERYONE deserves the basic level of respect to say that, 'I'm glad that you like that genre of music, even I don't.'

And I wish people would just fucking understand that sometimes, with genres of music AND gender.
