"Doctor Clarke Griffin, we have a patient for you in room 213, she is stable at the moment." My assistant Wells explains to me as I get my doctors jacket on and make my way over to room 213.

I pull out the file of the patient.
Name: Alexandra Woods
Sex: female
Age: 22
Height: 5'7
Weight: 130 lbs
Condition: severely beaten, stable.
Family: None

Only 22? I think to myself before shaking my head and walking into the room. I am met with a young girl struggling with the nurses. "You aren't putting that in me." She tells one of them as they are about to stick in an IV. "M'am we have to keep your vitals stable. Please just hold still" the nurse says trying to be calm.

"I just got in a fight nothing much. The only reason I'm here is because some stupid pedestrian called the cops, I'm fine!" The girl states before starting to get up.

She finally notices me and doesn't move. "Hello Alexandra, my name is Doctor Griffin." I say, trying very hard not to crack under her green eyes. "Hi." She says looking down.

"I'll take it from here." I motion the nurses out of the room, which they gladly exit. "Alright Alexandra why don't you get back in bed, hm?" I tell her and guide her back to her bed in the middle of the room, all the while she just stares at me.

Once she lies down I go over to the machine in which I have to hook her up to. It seems she kicked it across the room. "Wow. You kicked this pretty far for someone who just got nearly killed." I smirk at her. She just blankly stares at me before smirking a little bit at me.

"Alright Alexand-"

"Lexa" she says cutting me off. I stop prepping the needle and look at her. "What?"

"Lexa. Instead of Alexandra." She says looking down at her arm. "Ok, Lexa." I say winking at her. "Will you
please let me put this in your arm. It will make things go a lot easier." I push my lip out, begging her. She looks at me and laughs before going back to her stone face again.

"I guess" she sighs out. I just smile at her and grab the needle. "Alright...1...2....3..." I stick the IV in her arm. She flinches so I grab her hand with my free one. She looks down at our intertwined fingers long enough for me to finish taping the IV in her arm. "Done." I tell her while placing my hand on her shoulder.

"Ok Lexa. So in your file it says you have no family. Is that true? Are you sure there's no one we can call?" I ask her, rubbing my thumb over the back of her hand. She shakes her head. "Ok. Any friends?" She shakes her head again. "I'm alone." She finally says. "Well not alone but they can't come here." She looks down at her lap. "I'll be right back."

I get up and pull out my walker talkie radio thing that pages the front desk. "Wells?" I ask. "Yes Doctor Griffin?" He responds only immediately. "I'm taking my break now. Tell my mother that I'll be back on shift in a couple hours." "Copy Griff" he responds, I grin.

"I'm all yours for the next few hours." I turn back to Lexa. "You don't have to do that Doctor Griffin." She replies with a shocked look on her face. "Clarke. You can call me Clarke" she smiles.

After a couple hours of talking and laughing, a lot. My break is over. "Ugh. Lex my break is up. I gotta get back to work." I tell her as I stand up from the side of her bed. Some how we both managed to lay down in her bed. "Aw man. Time flew." She says trying to sit up as well but struggling and slumping back down in pain. "Lex don't strain yourself, just relax." I tell her while patting her shoulder.

I get up and start to walk out of the room. "Bye Lexa. I'll see you tomorrow. If you need anything you have my number." I tell her winking as I go to walk out. "Wait! Clarke. I was wondering maybe you'd like to go on a date with me...I mean like after I get out of here. I don't even know if you like girls. I mean if you don't that's totally cool, you can say no if you are busy. You must be really busy working at a hospital. So yeah I mean only if you-" she rambles on, I can only laugh. "Lexa." "I'm sorry was it to soon to ask. It probably was" "Lexa." "God I'm such an idiot what was I thinking." "LEX!" I somewhat yell. She looks up at me. "I'd love to go on a date with you." She smiles at me and I do the same.

"Alright now try and get some sleep." I tell her and walk over to her and kiss her forehead. "Ok." She says. I wave before walking out of her room.

Once I get back to my office I can only think about how much I want to thank the person that nearly beat her to death.
