"Alice pay attention!" my mother said softly as I sat in a tree, playing with the leaves. "Why should I mother? What is the point of a book with out color?" I said back letting the leaves fall to the ground, dancing as the fell threw the twist and turns of the branches below."for heavens sake child, come down from that tree before you hurt yourself!" my mother cried as she finally noticed me up in the old willow. "you'll have to catch me!" i said slithering up the tree like a serpent in the sea, wiggling my way to the tippy top.
"ALICE, ALICE!!" I heard my mothers worried tone catch up to me, but very faint as the wind wisped by me long blonde hair that was now down to my hips. I gazed of in to the boundless skyline, thinking of a better more colorful world that lay only in my dreams.
"ALICE!" my mother shouted again braking me out of my daydreams. "WHAT MOTHER?!" i yelled back down to her, "GET DOWN HERE NOW AND COME STUDY!" she hollered . "COMING!" I screamed knowing my childish voice would be muffled by the wind.
I finally got to the bottom of the tree knowing mother would be mad at my disobedience. "Alice Pleasances Leddell *her character in the 1951 movie was based on this woman* sit down and study your books, i will be back in an hour." she said to me walking off to go do 'grown up' things. "what ever" i mumbled to myself as i got up and walked over to a small waterfall that lay near a meadow of small daisies that danced and spun in the air like ballerinas. "oh how i wish i could go to a wonderful place, a place i can call wonderland....." i said as my fingers glided along the surface of the water. "oh how i wish...."
