Amelia's POV

I woke up the next morning to the guards shouting and banging metal sticks against the iron bars, which created a loud ringing sound.

I put hands over my ear and Oliver did the same. I looked over to see Elijah squeezing his eyes shut, he wasn't covering his ears but I knew it hurt his ears.

I removed my hands and put it over his ears, he immediately sighed in relief. When they finally stopped, everyone was awake. Well, except one. That old man.

The guards opened his door and slammed him into a wall, but he didn't respond. They finally came to the conclusion he was dead. He didn't even last the night.

Elijah let out a wail and I covered his eyes as they started taking the body away. I grabbed Oliver and covered his eyes as well.

Then they led us out of the cell. Elijah clung onto me as if I was going to disappear and Oliver walked next to me the entire time.

When we were guided through the halls and met up with the other groups, it was hard to even see. I ended up carrying Elijah and Oliver because I kept losing them.

We arrived in a giant room with food. We all got in line and grabbed our food. Actually, we can't really call it food. Sludge is more like it.

Elijah complained but when I started eating it he did also. Oliver was obviously used to it because he just shrugged and ate it.

I almost threw up a bunch of times from the taste but managed to keep it down. Then a guy in gray clothes came out. "Listen, scum." Elijah winced and huddled next to me.

"Each group will be sent to a job, you will rotate every day." He said gruffly. Work? We're slaves now? Our group ended up working in the field, which isn't too bad.

"Where are we going?" Elijah asked in nothing more than a whisper. "We're going to the field to do some work. But don't worry, I think it'll be fun." I told him.

He immediately smiled and nodded, "Okay!" We arrived in a giant wheat field and I looked at my surroundings. Fields, hills, fields, trees, fields, some ponds, oh! And more fields.

I inwardly groaned. I hate yard work. It's better than mining or chopping down trees or whatever, though.

A guy came up with a whip. Elijah shuddered and squeezed my hand, "Shh, it's alright." I whispered to him. The guy then started giving us instructions.

Like how to do this and that, and then said if we're not fast enough, then...well....he didn't say anything but he did lash his whip at thin air.

Which scared the crap out of Elijah and Oliver. They jumped back and the man smirked, I resisted glaring at the guy and sighed.

"Now get to works, scrubs!" He ordered. Everyone scurried to do their work and me, Elijah and Oliver ended up at the end of the field.

Oliver was working without talking and Elijah was picking at the wheat. "Elijah, you have to do work or you'll get hurt." I said.

He nodded and put some wheat in the wheelbarrow. I smiled and finally by the end of the day we went back to our cells. My stomach was grumbling, which made Elijah giggle.

"You think that's funny?" I asked, he nodded. I raised an eyebrow and stalked towards him. He grinned and got on all fours.

Right when he was about to pounce, Oliver came from nowhere and tackled him. Soon they were laughing and playing around.

I smiled and leaned against the wall, watching them. It was cute. Like if they were brothers or something. Finally they laid on the floor panting.

I laughed and they turned to give me a weird look. "That was like a dog fight but less vicious." I said, then added, "Very entertaining."

The boys came over and sat next to me, "Do you have any siblings, Mom?" Oliver asked, then blushed and looked down. "I-I mean. Can I call you Mom?" He asked.

I smiled, "I'd be honored. But, yeah. I have three siblings, actually. Two brothers and a sister. The oldest, my sister, is named Kaitlynn. She moved out long ago and married someone and has a son and daughter.

"The second oldest, Christian, moved out about a year or two ago. And my other brother, the younger one, still lives in the house." I said.

"Wow. You must have the best life! I'm an only child." Oliver said, "I have an older sister!" Elijah suddenly exclaimed, "She has white hair, which is weird but cool, and her name is Shiraga. My dad is Japanese and my mom is American so....yeah."

"That's really cool, Eli." I said. "When your mate comes and save us, then you can meet her! She's soooo cool!" He said. Well, at least he has a good relationship with her.

The cell door opened and a guard grabbed my arm, "Come on, girl. Time to go." Oliver and Elijah clung to me, "I'm not leaving without them." I declared.

We glared at each other for a while, "I won't go unless they come." I said. Finally, he caved. "Fine. Come along." He led us to a set of doors and we walked out.

My eyes widened, the exit! He led us to a car and we drove into the woods with loads of cars following until we had to get out and walk.

Finally, we arrived at a lake. Oliver, Eli and I had to wait at a distance to where we could watch with the other hundred people. Jackson came out of the trees and I smiled.

Then a guy with brown hair shifted from a wolf and walked towards him. They talked until the brown-haired guy nodded at my direction.

The guard grabbed my arm and led me out.

Jackson's POV

I can't believe they took her. I mean, I knew Caleb was really mad at me for beating him in the fight, but seriously?! I sighed and slumped down as I walked.

We're currently on our way to the meeting spot so we can get Amelia back. Maybe if I beat Caleb in a fight, then he'll leave her alone.

We arrived at a lake, the meeting spot. Everyone hid at a spot where the wind blew towards them so no one could smell their scents.

I stood near the waters edge, glancing around for Caleb. Finally, I spotted his brown hair and black clothes. When he came closer I saw his green eyes.

"Karebu." I called him by his code name. "Jakuson." He replied with a nod. "Give her back." I said. "Only if you give yourself up." He said.

"Fine." I sighed. Caleb nodded at a spot in the trees and after a moment Amelia came out with two blonde-haired kids clinging onto her like a lifeline.

"Yes, she um...brought some friends. Refused to leave without the brats." Caleb said. I smiled, that's so like her. When the guard let her go, Amelia ran to me and hugged me, the two kids standing behind her.

"Jackson! Where's Jake? And the pack?" She asked. I hand signaled to the pack with my hand and pushed Amelia and the two kids behind me.

I got in a fighting stance as the pack burst out. "Jake!" I heard Amelia exclaim.
"Attack!" I heard Jake yell before the pack charged at the other pack as the emerged.
