Chapter 1
"Heyo!" Falange shouts enthusiastically as she waltzes into the pizza place on main street with her little sister, Molly. Various versions of acknowledgement can be heard throughout the tiny shop.
Hannah approaches the squad table where Falange and Molly have just settled down. "Hi guys. Anything to drink for you losers?" She asks, smirking and pointing to the sisters.
Falange rolls her eyes, "Dr. Pepper, obviously~" She turns to the rest of the squad, snickering.
Yerba and Panji laugh along while Jay turns back to her book, shaking her head.
Hannah re-approaches with Maggie, her short but lovable grandmother. Maggie owns the shop, and when everyone sees her they cheer, grateful that food is on the house today.
Shortly after ordering, the squad hears a scream. Everybody starts, turning their heads to the kitchen. Falange worriedly bites her already short nails as she tries to appear nonchalant. Yerba looks around nervously, Jay slams her book shut and jumps from her seat, and Molly and Panji, being the jokers of the bunch, send worried snaps to all of their friends. Maggie is unfazed, as she seemingly didn't hear the scream. The girls find it strange that only they heard it.
"It's probably nothing," says Hannah. "But follow me,"
