As the janazah prayer ends, the squad walks out of the gym and sees the rest of their class.
"Hi guys," Sia says while pushing up her red glasses, Maranga and Muchi slumping behind her.
"How sad. He died before graduating high school," Huffy says. Shangsi sighs sadly as Jay frowns, swinging the little figurine of a character, Vault Boy, around her finger. She drops it and flushes, but when she bends down to pick it up, they hear the sound of squealing tires and a crash. They all run onto the parking lot and see a sleek, white sedan flipping into a ditch, and a mysterious looking black van driving away quickly. Muchi and Maranga run towards it with Yerba close on their heels. Muchi tries to open the door, but finds it jammed.
"It's not opening," Maranga says.
"Oh wow, I didn't know that," Muchi replies sassily, rolling his eyes.
Yerba walks to the front and looks in through the broken window. She gasps, then cups her hands around her mouth.
"IT'S THERMAN AND SIMON!" She shouts to the class. Shangsi gasps and runs towards them. Simone's face is flat on the wheel, blood dripping down her chin, while Therman slouched, unconscious, in the passenger seat. Shangsi puts her hands in front of her face in shock, hiding her tears.
"A-are they dead?" She asks, sniffling as Yerba hugs her, trying to console the poor girl.
"I think Therman is still alive," Maranga says.
"No... I think she's dead too," Muchi replies sarcastically.
Today, Muchi's sarcasm and sass earn him a slap in the face.
