The following day, the class found out that Therman was
in the hospital due to a coma. Simon wasn't as lucky, and she was announced dead this morning.
"Another one of us dead," Panji sighs. She walks with everyone in the class except for Shangsi, who stayed home to mourn Therman, and Sia, who told them she was going to be late just like everyday, through the small hallway of their high school.
"Yeah," Falange speaks, quietly.
"Oh great," Maranga starts, "I forgot something for speech class," He turns around to quickly go to his locker. "I'll be right back,"
As they walk around the corner and into the classroom, Molly looks at the clock.
"Where is Maranga?" She asks Hannah and Falange.
"Dunno fam," Hannah says.
Falange shrugs. "Maybe he got lost or something," The second she says that, Maranga walks into the classroom, his binder slung over his shoulder.During lunch time, Yerba violently chokes on her water and begins coughing loudly.
"Yerba! Are you okay?!" Huffy asks quickly, her eyes wide in alarm. The rest of the class looks at her.
"I'm fine," She replies hesitantly, and they seem surprised by how tired she sounds.
"You look sick," Panji tells her.
"You need God," Yerba retorts.
The bell rings and they all stand up to get to college for their dual-credit classes. As they walk together, Sia notices that Yerba is shaking.
"Yerba, you're shaking," She states matter-of-factly.
"No I'm not. I think you finally need to get new glasses," Yerba says back.As they enter the college, Yerba's knees go out from under her.
"Yerba!" Jay exclaims, catching her.
"I'm okay,"
"Uh, no, you are definitely not," Molly crouches down to eye level, though she doesn't have to crouch that low.
"You guys go to class," Hannah says, helping Yerba up. "I'll take her to the nurse's office,"
