A week after Natalie woke up, I decided to face the backlash from the discovery of having two public identities. The daytime television personality I chose to do the interview was a pale, photosensitive, awkward woman- slash vampire- by the name of Kathy Thoreau.

There I sat on a lovely blue arm chair, across from Kathy, with a ghost of a smile on my face. In my few years being Apple Lollipop I developed a sort of poker face of cool detachment. What she didn't know was that I internally panicking like a turkey on Thanksgiving Day (An American Holiday I call Turkey Day).

Kathy nervously giggled, ” Good Afternoon, and welcome to Kathy's Tea Time. We have with us today, the one but not the only, Miss Apple Lollipop.”

”Hello, everyone,” I said, with a smile toward the studio audience. I was already regretting this.

”So Apple, or do you prefer Amelia?”

”Um, I don't have a preference. You can me either one, although my mother is the only one who calls me Amelia. My friends and family call me Amy.”

”Really? So how did the name Apple Lollipop come to be?”

” It's an homage to my best friend, Natalie, the way we became best friends. It actually happened when we were six.” I paused briefly, feeling guilty, I was revealing our inside joke, the secret to our friendship. ” There was five lollipop choices; strawberry, banana, orange, grape and of course sour apple. That was how our first grade teacher chose who we sat with for the rest of the year. The flavor of our friendship is sour apple lollipops.” I gave a half-hearted chuckle that sounded more like I was clearing my throat.

Kathy seemed to gained a little more confidence. The audience cooed, ”Awww...” I was childlike to Kathy and the audience.

” So you've just mentioned your best friend, Natalie. And as far as we know she's been comatose, after being mobbed by Kyle Carter's fangirls. How is she today?”

”Well,” automatically pausing to hold back my laughter, ”She has been in recovery to say the least. Actually, she woke up a week ago.” I bit my lip then added, ” She even mentioned the mental health of teenaged girls. Explicitly and with several words of how in our teenaged years, we were never so psychotically deluded enough to justify the assault of someone for being a neighbor.” I turned the conversation serious.

Kathy frowned before schooling her features. ”Rumors have surfaced that you actually told off Kyle Carter. Can you confirm or deny it?”

Breathing in deeply with a look of contrition I say, ” Ooo. Hehe. I did.”

” Seriously, that actually happened? The rumors are true for the first time ever,” Kathy squealed. I'm sure it was an exciting confirmation. Although she looked lobster red, from obvious over-excitement.

”Oh, holy high heavens. I felt so bad after the fact. He caught me after my tears finally stopped. My best friend was lying in a coma, I got over protective and lashed out at him. But I felt so guilty, I blamed him for the actions of his fans.” I knew I was a good liar but Hot Damn! I could toss around some bullshiznit. He had just been evicted for leaking the location of his residence and violating the confidentiality agreement he signed when he became a tennant. ” I'm scared to see him. I don't want to think that I a short person with a smaller temper.”

Kathy had enough tact to smirk at my words rather than laugh at my convoluted articulation. ” Is that why you created your, for lack of better words, alter ego, Apple Lollipop?”

” Sort of. I started out three years ago. And at the  time, Lizzy Pierce, was hounded by the media especially after her sister's fail drug rehabilitation. And a few months before that Mandy McKinney spiraled out of control. Her family was blamed for not helping her before she got that bad. They were attacked by the media for something they didn't know how to handle.

I have two sisters one is a few years younger than me. I didn't want her face any backlash for my transgressions. I wanted to keep my personal life secret. Especially to protect the people I care about.”

Oh God When?! When will it end?!?!

” One last question before we're out of time. Did you ever regret keeping your personal life a secret?” Kathy asks.

” I can't say I regret it. I feel like keeping it secret was better for the people I care about. Their lives wouldn't turn upside down, inside out, and public since I kept it secret. I just want to take care of the people I love. So, I don't regret it.”

” Well at least your priorities are straight,” and there it is Kathy's awkward closing statement.

I just smile and nod.

” Well, that's all for now on Kathy's Tea Time,” she smiles and flash her vampiric fangs. If it weren't for the natural rosy blush of her cheeks I would have though she really was a vampire. Too pale for her own good, even a spray tan would help. Seriously, Casper's got a replacement.

Woot! The on air sign finally shut off. Lovely. I was drenched in sweat. Note to self: Don't wear leather in studio interviews.

I signed a couple of autographs before heading to the dressing room. Ten minutes later I was out the door and back to the hospital to check on Natalie.

*okay, so this felt like filler but atleast I'm updating ,its been months.*
