Scarlett roamed around the streets. This is life. I am alive.

"Scarlett, we must get going." Her bodyguard, tells her.

"But Mr. Holland, kind sir.."

"It's your mother's orders, dear."

Scarlett sighed. "You're right..."

They both go back to the house, and Scarlett locks herself in her room.

It was a long day for both Scarlett and Greyson.

Three days have passed.

"Scarlett, I'm going somewhere. And don't you dare to escape."

"I won't, Mother." Scarlett says.

"I'm locking the doors, just to be sure."

Her mom did what she exactly said. She locked all the doors and left. Scarlett was left alone in her room.

She opens the curtains.

"Hey!" Someone waved at her. It was the same guy she met a few days ago.

She opens the window. She smiled, and waved a little.

"Can we talk?" Greyson shouts, making some hand signals just in case Scarlett doesn't hear him from the third floor.

"I can't." She points to the door and makes hand signals, saying the doors are locked.

"No problem!" He says, smiling. "I'll be back."

Scarlett smiles and nods.

Fifteen minutes have passed and Greyson still isn't coming back. Scarlett is still patiently waiting by her window.

After another five minutes, someone knocked on the window.

She opened the curtains. It's him.

"Please open this." Greyson says, looking tired. Scarlett opens the window and Greyson goes inside the room. "How did you get here?" Scarlett asks. "By this," Greyson answers, pulling up the rope from the window he used to climb all the way up.

"Wow." Scarlett was amused.

Scarlett: Anyway, I'm sorry for the oh-so-not-polite greeting the last time.

Greyson: It's okay. Were you afraid of me?

Scarlett: No, it's just that... Look at my situation.

Greyson: What's with it?

Scarlett: Promise not to laugh?

Greyson: Yes.

Scarlett: Well, I'm from Swinserville, and by next year I'd be a princess of the kingdom. And so now, I'm stuck in here, stuck in "exposing myself to people" which really isn't happening. I have a mother who doesn't want me mixing up with people not in the same situation I'm in..

Greyson remains silent.

"I know, my life is terrible." Scarlett attempts to to break Greyson's silence.

Greyson: No, of course not.

Scarlett: What do you mean?

Greyson: What I'm trying to say is, you have everything you need here with you.

Scarlett: You don't know what you're saying.

Greyson: Don't you think you're lucky enough to be living this life?

Scarlett: It's none of what I ever wanted.

Greyson: You should at least be happy.

Scarlett: I'm not.

Greyson: Then why don't you escape?

Scarlett: Believe me, I tried.

Scarlett goes to her closet and gets something. She shows it to Greyson.

It was a box of different kinds of materials a person can use to escape -- ropes, knives of different kinds.

"And that's why I was amazed when you got up here with a rope," Scarlett says. "It's something I can't do."

"Of course you can." Greyson looks at her in the eyes. "There is nothing--"

Someone attempts to open the door. "Scarlett?"

"Greyson, you need to go. Right now." Scarlett whispers, giving Greyson his jacket and his things and immediately opens the window.

"Why--"

"My mom is here."

"But--"

"Greyson, you have to go." Scarlett helps Greyson out with his rope.

"This is not the last time right?" Greyson asks one more time, ready to go down with his rope.

"Of course. I'll see you soon." Scarlett says, smiling.

Greyson smiled back as Scarlett closes the window and the curtains.

The door opens. "Were you talking to someone?"

"No, Mom. I'm home alone remember?"

"But I thought I heard a young boy's voice... Oh well, maybe I'm just hallucinating. Besides, you're not allowed to be with any other guy..."

"B..but of course Mom."

Her mom smiles, and Scarlett smiles too; somewhat fake.

This is your world, Scarlett. You can't be who you want to be, you can't be with the people you want to be, and you can't love the people you want to love.
